The lake by the forest was a popular spot for water-type Pokemon. The area was somewhat crowded but it felt like home. It was this area that a Samurott called Kenki had chosen to raise her family. She had two sons: Futachi, the eldest, and Mijou, still a young child. Futachi had already evolved into a Dewott by the time he reached his teenage years.
One fine morning, he was performing his daily training routines as he watched his younger brother fondly cuddling his mother while she licked him clean for the day. Futachi glared at Mijou discreetly. He wasn't keen on the way the Oshawott shamelessly basked in their mother's affection. Oh, it wasn't because he was jealous of all the attention Kenki was giving Mijou! Not at all. He himself had received plenty of affection, even after Mijou was born. At one point he had grown out of it, demanding his mother did not treat him like a child anymore. He had to become strong. Cuddling mommy was the opposite of his vision of strong.
Mijou was a mama's boy. He never ventured too far from her, and always looked to her for guidance. His days were filled with fun and playing. Futachi was disgusted with that attitude. Even their mother, as sweet as she was, was a dangerous foe in battle when it was necessary. Their father was a powerful Feraligatr and Futachi highly resented him ever since he had left the family on a quest for power. The Dewott had vowed to become stronger than him and someday defeat him, wherever he was now. Mijou had never known his father because he had left shortly after he was born. He didn’t care; his mother was all the love he needed. A few specific egg moves was all the heritage the Feraligatr had left with his sons. Mijou did not share his brother's passion for training; he was happy just the way he was.
