So they basically swim up to literally everything and just bite out a plug of flesh for no reason. Just to be dicks.

Somehow it grew to tremendous sizes (well, they're like, a few inches long, but that's tremendous for a worm thing) because we all know that parasites are generally assholes. Maybe they were a parasite that was given a boon to become a shark, or maybe a shark that was cursed by an evil wizard to be a stupid asshole with a dumb face.
Like look there probably used to be gigantic whales and stuff and they were just tiny parasites inside the whales, but they were SUCH dicks they extincted the giant sharks and now they are proportionally pretty large parasites that are passing as sharks and hurting their good name

Ok so like, the normal fairy will just kind of dick you over you know? For no reason or whatever. But I think if a fairy is like, holding it in and actually being kind and reasonable, then when they decide to fuck somebody, it is a raging boner hurricane of non consensual penetration.
