Apologies for the faults in the shading here... see, I was trying out a new medium. I've been trying my hand at charcoal a bit, and this is the first completed picture I've done in it! I need to work on making light sources consistent. : And shading in general.

Incidentally, it was some time during the course of making this picture that I've discovered that I find straitjackets sexy.

The little boy wondered what this strange creature was that dwelled in the corner of his eye whenever he was in the world between sleep and waking.

Long legs trembled and quivered. Its shoulders rose and fell steadily with each shaky breath. Muzzled, and bound by its own ears, it appeared helpless to move, its bloodshot eyes always trained on him.

But no, it wasn't helpless to move. It came, it went. How did it go? Where did it go? Should he help it? Did it need to be helped?
