Didn't want to put under snake, as it's not actually snakes :P

anyway, wanted to do this for a while, make a series of species right off the top of my mind ^^; so here's the start of the furry "atlantian" species.

they are a mix of something rodent-like (i think) and serpents :3 so i'll just say serpentians X3

displaying 3 examples:
mid-left; armored with layers of seashells. and equipped with sharp blades of scales. 'lid' hanging down can be shifted up and down depending on need. here it hangs loosely. here it is closed http://www.furaffinity.net/view/854249/ (also head a bit withdrawn, due to my haste while drawing it X3)
top; trying to catch the slither/swim motion with the blades in front to make themselves slightly more aerodynamic.
bottom-right; a little attempt at a profile just to illustrate the features, and yes, that is his tongue. X3

the males are bred for war and their main concern is to safeguard those they care about. they only form as an army when under attack. they are a peaceful people, contra to what one would think when looking at the males. the main reason for this is because of their matriarchy. (meaning led by a female) the females are strongly pacifistic, but understands the need for rash actions in hard times, and even tho trying to turn their men away from the ways of warfare, and being somewhat successful, encourages them to be brave and guard them. ^^

the females next, i hope i can make them more beautiful than this X3 <-<;
