The best image I was able to get of an orb weaver up close. They seem to know not to build their webs too close to the boardwalk.
Uploading some photos from the other day when Nick and I went to Sawgrass Lake park near Tampa, Florida. It's ten times more gorgeous than Turkey Creek Sanctuary here in Palm Bay. :) Hope you enjoy, and as always, feel free to use my photos as stock/reference w/credit given, thanks :)

i remember when i had one of these in my yard as a kid. it had this huge giant web spread out flat over the top of some huge leafy grass/bush plant thinger (i dont know what it was. some kind of begonia or similar species) it lived there for several years (i dunno how long they are supposed to live but everyday for 3 years it was there sometimes on the top of the web and sometimes suspended underneath it) until one day the web was finally abandoned and eventually disappeared. i loved that spider. is was soooo beautiful and gigantic. about the size of a dinner plate.
