EPIC ORCHESTRAL COMPOSITION VIII: Shunned By The Light (aka Erik's Theme)
SO, sorry about the wait, this one's been through a lot. I actually finished composing it weeks back, the sound quality is the hard part. I did the best I could with it using Mixcraft, but after posting my last piece, I needed to sound as good!
So I tried getting help from
karuno but unfortunately it didn't really work, It wasn't his fault and I appreciate what he did. Then a few weeks later I asked
zironyxcyx for some help. He ended up helping me a lot and I really love the way this turned out. Thank you so much! And thank you
karuno for trying to help xD I know I might have been annoying.
So Erik, is the Demon boy and he IS shunned by the light. So, this is his story, enjoy!

I like the improved clean sound and the strongly pointed out themes, but some blending of separate parts feel a little bit rushed. The song tries to evoke a very strong composition and orchestration but feels suppressed by subjectively odd changes in pace that don't allow its full power to shine.
Don't get me wrong, I really like to listen to it many times, but it could be a bit more fleshed out and take more time to fully develop.
It feels more like the presentation of a leitmotif than a complete composition. But I definitely want to hear more of your future compositions, because your themes are very strong and recognizable.

Thank you for the comment. It's nice to know people actually know some of my themes xD about it feeling rushed, I have had previous compositions which have lasted up to 10 minutes of just different ways to play out a few themes with different tempos and time sigs. The problem is, the finished project files have been usually to large to upload on FA. I've been trying to make some shorter pieces including this one, but I'm gonna get back to make some longer themes.
At first I tried to remember from which movie you took the theme for this track, then I noticed that I remembered it from one of your other compositions XD
It's not important to make a song "long", it's important to give it enough time. Every song is like a spoken statement: use the words you need to express yourself, but don't add unnecessary words to just make it longer and don't cut it too short with the feeling there's something left to say.
And for me themes are the heart of music. Almost every conductor of an orchestra can coordinate a piece of music that it sounds technically well performed, but only the musician as artist can come up with a theme for the orchestra to play.

It's good to hear that you're pushing yourself. If you're not trying to improve well, there's really no point is there? Excellent fanfare in this one. Very immersive right from the start. Strong and attention-grabbing. This one really got me swaying with the beat. Or more like pounding with the beat, thanks to that characteristic sharpness that you put into the faster melodies. Once more I hear from the choir, and they could not have come at a more perfect time. That was a real emotional high point in the song and that gentle choral segment really drew that out as a perfect lead-in to the rising fanfare. I'm making a lot of typos that I'll have to fix because I just can't focus on typing while the song is playing, and because I can''t get all the praise out fast enough!
I had a lot of fun looking though your gallery and I hope I was able to help in some small way. I'll keep an eye out for your work in the future.

I know this tune from somewhere... Maybe I've listened to it before and forgot...
Totally awesome, though. I can just picture... a massive battle, as big as all the troops in WWII going out simultaneously, then all fighting to the death until only one remains.
However, it makes my work look really bad and amateur...
