Hey there folks! Here's a little story to go with my Duel World idea! =D
*ATTENTION* This is NON-CANNON with my PCA works. It has been made EXCLUSIVLY for fun. *ATTENTION*
Anyway in this story we have the Julafton family enjoying a brief but hopefulyl fun vacation at the island wonderland of Duel World! What kind of misadventures will they get into? Will Petie be able to keep up his sharade of being under 5 since he got in on a childs ticket? And who is this cosplaying duelist he's accepting the challenge of? Read to find out!

Duel World was awe inspiring. Ever since they’d gotten off the boat the sights and sounds had been almost overwhelming. Petie toddled along, looking up slack-jawed at the sheer number of sights. Momma had gotten them a two day stay at the famous “Duel World” for vacation… which considering the price of admission was definitely really expensive. To be honest Petie felt a bit guilty about it since he’d mentioned wanting to go here to Momma… but right now he was too wowed to even considering feeling ashamed.
His family oddly enough didn’t stand out too terribly here even though Momma and James still towered over the average person. James had traded his athletic sweats out for a loud Hawaiian shirt and slacks while Momma was dressed a bit less loudly with a simple button up shirt and jeans, both of which hugged her figure. A baby bag was slung over her shoulder as she pushed the twins along in the stroller. Holly and Carol were dressed in just their diapers, t shirts, and hair bows (yellow for Holly, blue for Carol) and were cooing and squeaking excitedly at everything around them.
Rose meanwhile was wearing an outfit that might get her mistaken for one of the park’s cosplayers. It was her recreation of a female Obelisk Blue blazer and skirt with high socks and matching gloves. Her long hair fell freely down her back. Next to her, and with instructions to hitch a ride on her tail if he started to fall behind, was Petie. His cheeks flushed red as he toddled along, very aware of how he was dressed. A simple red t shirt under big blue overalls that did their best to hide just how thickly diapered he was underneath (Momma had insisted since he had more than a little trouble making it to the restroom last time they visited an amusement park. This way she could change him as needed without worrying).
The only thing that really stood out among the family was that Petie was the only one wearing a duel disk. The baby blue contraption on his arm was one of the non-standard models, made originally for children ages 5 to 7. As such it had a big lifepoint counter, all the sharp edges had been rounded, and it was made with a built in “Kill Switch” to turn itself off if the duel got too intense for little kids. The first thing Petie had done when he got it was to deactivate and take out the kill switch. He wanted a proper duel disk but most of them were way too big to fit properly on his arm so for now he was stuck with this.
The family was currently going through “Starter Deck City” since they’d already dropped their luggage at the (admittedly cheap) hotel they’d be staying at for the night. On either side of them were brightly colored buildings themed after monsters of all kinds from Goblins to Elemental Heroes and staffed with workers often dressed accordingly. Considering the somber colors of the Skyscraper hotel district they just came out of it was almost overstimulation for Petie as the family finally paused at a fountain with a statue of Red Archery girl in the middle, water shooting up from the tip of the arrow she was pointing skywards as well as from around her.
“Now then… I think Toon World would be our first stop.” Momma said, pointing at the fold out map of Starter Deck City she’d picked up along the way. Rose looked at her in confusion as she picked up and gently bounced a protesting Petie in her arms “Why? I thought we were going to keep the twins with us. If I remember right Toon World is where the daycare center is.” She asked as Momma chuckled “True… but it’s also where the merry go round is… and I know a certain teddy who loves merry go rounds.” She added patting Petie’s head as the blushing teddiursa looked away, unable to deny it.
Suddenly an explosions got all of their attentions as they turned and saw a duel in progress. A Dark Armed Dragon had just used its power to nuke the field and had attacked some poor duelist directly, dropping his lifepoints to 0. The dragons owner, a gleefully grinning Krookodile dressed like a reject from West Side Story, laughed “That makes seven! Who wants to be my 8th straight win!?” he shouted as he eyed the crowd “Come on! Step up if you aren’t cowards!” he called making Momma shake her head.
“Naturally there’s duelists eager to feed their egos here… lets go before he gets desperate for a new challenger and starts calling out people randomly.” She said as she pushed the stroller in the direction of Toon World, James and Rose (who was still carrying Petie) following after her. Petie looked over Rose shoulder at the still posturing croc, wondering if he could have taken him on.

Toon World was an assault of bright colors, cheerful music, and activity as they arrived by passing through a gate made to look like the storybook from the spell card. All around were brightly colored stalls and attractions from bumper cars to a little kiddie rollercoaster and a Ferris Wheel going in the distance. The stalls were brightly colored and most of the attractions were based on or related to Toon monsters in some way. It was almost nauseatingly cheerful and childish, at least to Petie, but the rest of his family seemed not to mind.
Rose finally sat him down as Momma checked her map again, trying to find the Merry-go-Round was. Petie meanwhile was left to his own devices as James tried to help Momma plan how to get to the Merry-go-Round from the gate and Rose had drifted right over to a “Pop the Balloons” game stand in an attempt to win the large Blue Eyes Toon Dragon that had caught her eye. It wasn’t that he couldn’t have fun here… it’s just he was too embarrassed to. A teen, even a diapered one, on a bunch of baby rides? He might enjoy being babied a little but not in a place as public as this…
His thoughts were interrupted as something caught his eye. It was a large building, the entrance modeled after a cartoonish, shining silver castle popping out of the Toon World book. He felt like he should recognize it but he just couldn’t place from where. His curiosity got the better of him as he waddled over. Looking up at it for a moment he could see the sign above the door said “Shine Palace”, which he recognized from a car… but he remembered hearing it when Momma described the park as well. He just couldn’t remember what it was. Shrugging he waddled in to see.
“Welcome to the Shine Palace 24 hour daycare center! Oh? Why hello there little guy! Where’s your mommy?” Petie went pale as he finally remembered what the shine palace was as a gardevoir dressed as Counselor Lilly scooped him up. Like the other time Petie had been caught like this his speech went with his composure as a strew of baby babble came out of his mouth as he tried to tell the lady this was a HUGE misunderstanding. She just giggled and tickled his tummy before poking his nose playfully.
“Yes a goo goo ba boo to you to!” she said as she sat him on a nearby counter, pulling out a little bar scanner like device hooked into the clipboard she was carrying. She lightly waved it over the small badge hooked to Petie’s shirt. They’d each been given one when they’d paid the admission fee. He saw a flash of light from the clipboard and realized it must be some kind of tech-pad. “Lily” giggled softly “Petie Julafton, child’s ticket, here with his family for two days…” she read off as it dawned on Petie the badges must contain info about the guests in case something went wrong and probably could serves as locators too. Unfortunately since it was easier and cheaper than coming in as a teen he’d gotten in free as a child 5 and under so there was no way to prove he wasn’t a toddler.
A few more taps of the tech-pad and “Lily” smiled at him “There! Your parents and big sister are being alerted that you wandered in here so they can pick you up… or sign you in.” she giggled and patted his head making Petie feel even smaller and younger as he blushed furiously “Cause you seem like a sweet little boy… now then…” there was a familiar snap as Petie squeaked and his overalls fell “Oh calm down, most little ones are diapered for the park so their parents don’t have to hunt down bathrooms.” She said cheerfully as she checked a squirming Petie “Yep, dry and clean!” with a snap his overalls were back up, the teddiursa’s dignity no longer with him.
“Now lets drop you off with the other little ones.” She cooed gently rubbing Petie’s tummy as she carried him further in. Passing through a toddler gated threshold Petie found himself in a playroom like the one from Leanna’s orphanage with a fenced off section for the toddlers and younger babies and the older children having their own section. Oddly enough most of the toys were duel monsters themed as he found himself plopped down on his bottom next to a Baby Tiragon plushie. Sighing and folding his arms in a pout he looked around at the other little kids and wondered how long he’d be stuck here.
There was a beeping from the clipboard as “Lily” sounded surprised “Wow that was fast!” Petie squeaked as he was scooped back up and carried right back out where he found Rose waiting for him. “You’re his big sister… Rose?” “Lily” asked as she looked at the kangaskhan while Petie immediately made grabby hands to her making both girls giggle “I’ll take that as a yes.” The psychic said as she put Petie into Rose’s arms “You might want to invest in a stroller for him, it’d keep the little cutie from wandering off.”
Rose giggled as Petie blushed furiously “Don’t worry, I’m sure he won’t do it again. Thanks for watching him!” she said as “Lily” just giggled and waved to them as they left “It’s my job, take care you two!” she called as Petie weakly waved back as they went out the door back to the rest of the park.

One Merry-go-Round ride, a Ferris Wheel ride, and a good amount of cotton candy later the family was heading back to their hotel room so Rose could drop off all the plushies she’d won and Momma could feed the twins without attracting unwanted attention. Petie was waddling along happily with them, licking the remains of his last serving of cotton candy from his face, as they neared the Red Archer Girl fountain again. They heard another explosion as Momma sighed.
“Is he STILL at it?” she asked as they finally got close enough to see… and found the krookodile from earlier sprawled out on his ass, his lifepoint counter reading 0. Across from him was a cosplay duelist posing dramatically. It was a young man dressed in a skin tight, or maybe it was his skin, blue grey body suit with pale blue markings on it. A huge brown belt was around his waist and another one acted as the collar of his long black cape with red lining. His hair spiked up in an impossible, anime-ish style and his head seemed to be made of the same blue grey material as his body. A flared purple zorro-like mask covered his face and solid red eyes. He grinned and took cards off his sleek and futuristic duel disk.
“THAT is what becomes of villains who make trouble in this fair city! Now be gone! Or else I shall thrash you again!” the character said, his voice surprisingly deep and commanding for how spritely he looked, as he cracked the ground with a whip sending the krookodile scurrying off like his tail was on fire. The character laughed deeply and posed again “Worry not fair guests! The villain has been dealt with and you can resume your merry making in peace!!” he called as Petie, again not thinking as he did so, toddled up to him and asked.
“Who are you?”
The character let out a boisterous laugh and gave Petie a big brotherly pat on the head “You have a point there little guest…” he suddenly did a series of backflips Petie could barely see them before launching himself skyward and landing on top of the fountain statue before striking a pose “I have yet to introduce myself! Listen well my precious guests to the words of a hero!!” he shouted before slowly crossing his arms over his chest “For I am one of the Challenge Duelists of this fair city!” he suddenly thrust his duel disk arm skyward “For I AM the hero from the Different Dimension!”
He waved his other arm out as if scanning across the crowd with it “The strength of family is my power!”
With a snap like motion he thrust his other arm out in front of him “The ties of friendship are my strength!!”
He grinned and crouched before launching himself skyward again, posing in mid-air “And no matter what happens I will never fail those who I’ve sworn to protect!!”
“For I am ESPER STAR SPARROW!!!” he shouted as out of nowhere fireworks went off behind him in colorful flashes of light leaving equally colorfully smoke behind as Sparrow started to descend, doing flips that would make normal gymnasts green with envy before landing on his feet on the fountains edge and thrusting his arm with the duel disk out “And I am extending a formal challenge to whoever wishes to face a hero! Fabulous prizes will go to those who claim victory in this battle of honor… but be warned for true heroes never lose!”
“I’ll take that challenge!!”
The large audience that had gathered to watch that display blinked in confusion as Sparrow was surprised enough he nearly lost his balance and fell into the fountain as they all looked at Petie. The teddiursa grinned as he waddled back to Momma “Can I have my deck pwease Momma?” he asked as the ursaring gave him a worried look “Are you sure Petie? The challenge duelists are supposed to be really strong…” she said as Petie just gave her a pleading look with sad teddy eyes till she sighed and pulled his deck out of the baby bag “Very well… but be careful okay?”
“Yaaaaay! Tank yu Momma!”
Sparrow coughed lightly into his hand as he looked to Momma “Are you sure Ma’am? I mean no disrespect but this might be a little too intense for someone as young as your son.” He said, trying to say this as politely as possible, which just made Momma chuckle “Oh I think you’d be surprised Mr. Sparrow. Petie is a bit more skilled at this game then his looks let on.” She said making him look from her to Petie and back for a moment as the teddiursa slipped his deck into his duel disk.
Finally Sparrow coughed into his hand again and walked a few paces for Petie before turning to face him “Very well then, it is unbecoming of a hero to face one so young but if you believe you are up to the challenge… then it is also my duty as a hero to test your strength and help you grow!” he declared tossing his cape out dramatically as he pointed at the teddiursa “Well then, Petie was it?” he asked, waiting for Petie to nod before continuing “Well then Petie consider yourself my opponent! I will show you no mercy but please fight back with all your strength or else accepting my challenge will have been meaningless!”
“Wasn’t gonna hold back hero-guy.”
“Glad to hear it rugrat… very well then, DUEL!!”
“DUEL!!”
Petie: 8000 Star Sparrow: 8000
“Now then, you may have the first move.” Sparrow said bowing his head a little and motioning to Petie as the teddy nodded and drew “I summon… Madolche Mew-feuille!” he called as the pink musketeer kitten appeared and let out a sleepy meow (500/300) “And his power lets me special summon Madolche Messengelato from my hand!” the child-like postal carrier appeared whistling cheerfully as he stuck a letter into a mailbox made of sweets (1600/1000) “And when he’s special summoned while a beast type Madolche is on the field I can take a Madolche spell or trap from my deck and add it to my hand!” he giggled eagerly as a card popped out of his deck “And I’ll play it! Madolche Chateau!”
The sweets themed castle rose up behind Petie as his two monsters stats rose with it (1000/800) (2100/1500)”And I’ll end my turn there!” he squeaked, chest puffed up in pride at having pulled off that combo as Sparrow clapped “Bravo young guest, bravo! Quite a skillful move for one your age!” he said with a smile as Petie blushed, mostly cause Sparrow likely didn’t realize he WASN’T a little kid, and the hero pulled the card off the top of his deck “Now allow me to respond…”
“I summon one of the members of my “Family”… please give a warm welcome to Beast Warrior Puma!” he said as a puma headed warrior appeared in front of him. It was wearing dark colored knight armor with golden shoulder pads, arm guards, and leg guards along with a deep red cape. He pulled the sword he had stored at his hip out and roared (1600/1000) as Sparrow smiled fondly “Now then… I have him attack your kitten!” he called as Puma jumped forward and cut Mew-Feuille in half making Petie wince “And I know of your monsters effects, it would return to your deck but thanks to your chateau it returns to your hand.” He said as Petie nodded and put the monster back in his hand.
Petie: 7400 Star Sparrow: 8000
“Now then… I use Puma’s effect!” the beast warrior roared as he faded away into motes of light “And tribute him to add a copy of MY card from my deck to my hand… and then I’ll play Monster Reincarnation to discard it and add Puma back to my hand!” he said as in rapid pace he pulled a card from his deck, played a spell, then discarded the card he’d pulled to take Puma out of the grave. Petie just looked at him in utter confusion as Sparrow laughed boisterously “Don’t worry, it’ll make sense soon. Now then I set one card and end my turn.” he said as a facedown card appeared.
“I draw then!” Petie said as he pulled his card and Sparrow’s facedown flipped “And I activate my Imperial Iron Wall!” he said as a huge, gleaming metal wall rose up around them “Now cards can’t be removed from play!” Petie just looked at him in confusion “Bu… dat helps MY deck tu!” he squeaked, obviously confused at this point as Sparrow just smiled back at him “… yur up tu something… I summon Madolche Croiwanssant!” he called as an adorable little puppy wearing a hat and bell on its collar appeared (1500/1200) and received a power boost from the chateau (2000/1700) “And I’ll have Messengelato attack you directly! Courier Strike!” he called as the monster rushed towards Sparrow.
Only to screech to a halt as an identical clone of Sparrow leapt onto the field out of nowhere before crossing his arms in front of himself and kneeling down (3000/1500) Sparrow laughed good-naturedly at the dumbfounded look on Petie’s face “Meet ESPer Star Sparrow, me in other words. He’s a monster with a lot of effects. For one there’s only allowed to be one of him on the field, fortunately I don’t count.” He said, chuckling a little “He also is the only card that can be targeted for your attacks and effects while he’s on the field and if you’d attack me directly while he’s in the graveyard I can special summon him to the field in defense mode, but he’d be removed from play when he’s destroyed again.”
“But he can’t be removed from play! Your trap card prevents it!”
“Exactly! Which makes Star Sparrow the undying hero and defender of the weak! The guardian of justice! And the reason you’ll never get off a direct attack against me!” he boasted as Petie pouted before pointing. Messengelato nodded and threw some letters shattering the defending hero “Since he’ll come back if I attack I won’t and I’ll use Croiwanssant’s effect!” Messengelato vanished “By returning a Madolche monster to my hand I raise his level by one and his attack by 300!” Petie called as the puppy barked happily (Level 4/2300/1700) “And I’ll end my turn.”
“I draw then!” Sparrow said as he dramatically pulled his card “And I’ll set one monster and one facedown!” two cards appeared in front of him “And then I’ll end my turn! Show me your strength my young friend!” he called dramatically as Petie pulled his card. Looking over the teddiursa thought hard… he could summon up his Queen Madolche… but this guy knew about his monsters his effects. He might know about her to and have some way to counter her. Looking over his cards Petie let a devious grin creep across his face.
“I summon Madolche Mew-feuille!” he called as the pink kitten appeared again (500/300) “And he lets me special summon Madolche Messengelato!” the messenger appeared again (1600/1000 “And his effect lets me add a Madolche spell or trap from my deck to my hand!” Petie called as he pulled a card from his deck while his monsters gained a boost from the field (1000/800) (2100/1500) “And then I’ll set two cards and use Croiwanssant’s effect to return Mew-feuille to my hand!” the kitten vanished again as the dogs power and level shot up (level 5/2600/1700) “And I’ll end my turn.”
Sparrow raised an eyebrow at this “No Queen? Looks like you’ve got a plan… I can’t wait to see it!” he said with a grin as he pulled his card “I tribute my facedown Sangan to summon Phoenix Beast Gairuda!” with a screech a gold colored mechanical phoenix with red feathers on its wings and tail appeared in a burst of flames (2500/1200) “And since Sangan was sent to my grave I can add a monster with 1500 attack or less to my hand… so I’ll choose Ironhammer the Giant!” he said as the monster slipped from his deck.
“Next… I’ll have Gairuda attack your Croiwanssant! And when he attacks he gains 300 extra attack points!” Gairuda’s attack rose up (2800/1200) as he reared back and breathed a flame blast at the puppy… as time seemed to slow down and violin music could be heard. Sparrow’s eyes widened as Petie’s trap lifted “T-that’s…” as the teddiursa grinned “Yep! This is Madolche Waltz! Now every time a Madolche monster battle you take 300 points of damage!” Petie called as he winced as his puppy was destroyed and Sparrow winced as his lifepoints took a hit.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 7700
Petie added Croiwanssant back to his hand due to it and his chateau’s effect as Sparrow hung his head in silence for a moment… then burst out laughing “Yes! That’s what I’m talking about! A way to damage me without direct attacks! Show me more of your burning spirit! I set one card and it’s your turn now my young friend!” he said eagerly as Petie just stared at him wondering if taking damage always made this guy act more insane “I draw…” he said looking over the cards in his hand “And set one card… then I summon Mew-feuille again…” the pink cat returned “But this time I’ll use his effect to summon my Madolche Puddingcess!!” he said slapping his card down as the blond hair, pudding themed princess of the Madolche monsters appeared (1000/1000)
“And she gains a boost from my Chateau…” Puddingcess giggled as her points rose (1500/1500) “And since there’s no monsters in my grave she gets a bigger bonus!” Petie shouted as her stats rose even higher (2300/2300) “Then I’ll move Messengelato to defense mode.” He said as the courier knelt down. Suddenly Sparrow broke out laughing good-naturedly again making Petie stare at him “… what’s so funny?” he finally asked, getting a little annoyed.
“You’ll attack with Puddingcess and if I can’t negate it then her effect lets you destroy one of my cards… like my Iron Wall.” He said, hands on his hips “Then next turn it doesn’t matter which of your monsters I’ll destroy since you’ll be able to bring Puddingcess back again and use her power to destroy another card and force me to summon Robin again.” He wagged a finger in front of his face “But then he’d be removed from play and my combo will be gone while YOURS will let you keep bringing out Puddingcess. Sure it’d cost you lifepoints but the end result would be crippling my field presence.”
Petie looked at him with a dropped jaw as Sparrow finished explained Petie entire plan. The cosplay shrugged and smiled “I have a fair amount of knowledge about these cards young one, a colleague of mine uses them… but don’t take that the wrong way though. It’s truly an inspired plan, especially for a rugrat like yourself.” He said, the sincerity in his voice showing he was actually praising Petie “But I’m going to have to ruin it… I activate Compulsory Evacuation Device!” he called as one of his facedowns lifted “This cards lets me return one monster on the field to their owners hand, and I choose…” he chuckled as he saw Petie wince “My Gairuda!”
“… why?” Petie asked, utterly dumbfounded by that move as Sparrow just smiled “… ugh, nevermind! Puddingcess attacks you directly!” he called as once again his attack was blocked by the Star Sparrow clone jumping out onto the field. Petie just rolled his eyes “Fine, I declare my attack again with HIM at the target this time!” he said as Puddingcess skipped over… only for Sparrow’s remaining trap to flip up “Negate Attack! Your attack doesn’t happen and your battle phase ends!” the cosplayer shouted as Petie stomped his foot in frustration “Fine! I set a card and end my turn!”
“Temper, temper rugrat.” Sparrow said in a chastising tone as he drew his card “Get angry and you’ll make mistakes. Now then… I move Sparrow to attack mode!” he called as his clone stood up, making Petie realize just how many attack points it had (3000/1500) “And he’ll attack your kitty! Different Dimension Whip!” Star Sparrow leap at Mew-feuille about to crack it with his whip as Petie activated one of his facedowns “Go Defense Draw!!” he shouted as his trap revealed itself “Now I don’t take battle damage and I get to draw a card!” he said as a barrier of light protected him from the damage as Mew-feuille was destroyed and Waltz chipped away at Star Sparrow’s lifepoints again.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 7400
“Nice save! I’ll set one card and end my turn! Your go rugrat!” Sparrow said cheerfully as a facedown appeared and Petie drew. The teddiursa HAD a way to go on the offensive… but something wasn’t right here. All this guy had done so far was build up cards in his hand and rely on his combo to protect himself. It was an effective combo without a doubt but still… what was he leading up to? Petie looked at the trap Defense Draw had given him, with that he could find out at least.
“I set one card… and summon Madolche Majoleine!” he called as the young witch riding the desert fork like a broom appeared (1400/1200) and giggled innocently as she powered up from the chateau (1900/1700) “And her power lets me add a Madolche monster from my deck to my hand…” the card slips from his deck as he looks over his hand again and bows his head “Your turn…”
“Ah, I see…” Sparrows said, taking this as a sign Petie was out of tricks “Very well then… in respect of your abilities so far I’ll give you a truly spectacular finish!” he said pulling his card off his deck “For you have shown true braver and skills so far! Now from my field and deck I send one ESPer Star Sparrow, Ironhammer the Giant, Phoenix Beast Gairuda, and Beast Warrior Puma to my grave!” he took Star Sparrow off his disk as he sent it and three cards in his hand to the grave “To special summon Dimensional Jet Iron!!”
With a roar something came flying out of the sky to hover behind Star Sparrow. Petie’s jaw dropped as he stared up in awe at the huge machine. It was a white, red, and gold mix of a spaceship and a high speed jet… and it was HUGE!! It revved its engines as it hovered over Star Sparrow (4000/0) “Behold! Dimensional Jet Iron!” Sparrow said proudly “But don’t worry my young friend… I won’t be attacking you with it.” Suddenly the blue cockpit on top of the jet flew open “Because I can tribute it to special summon the entire Sparrow Family from my graveyard!” the jet shattered into motes of light as four figures jumped from it.
“So everyone, lets give a warm welcome to ESPer Star Sparrow!” the clone of the duelist appeared once again (3000/1500) “Beast Warrior Puma!” as the puma headed warrior appeared on one side of Star Sparrow (1600/1000) “Phoenix Beast Gairuda!” with a roar the mechanical phoenix appeared on Star Sparrow’s other side (2500/1200) “And making his debut appearance in this duel Ironhammer the Giant!!” a huge robot rose up behind the trio, looking like something out of an old cartoon. It was cylindrical with black armor with gold accents and huge arms. It had a single spike on its head and one on each shoulder as its eyes flashed and it knelt down in defense mode (900/3500).
“Now then, I’ll start with Ironhammer since you haven’t seen him before.” Sparrow said, smiling proudly “As long as he’s in play monsters can’t change their battle positions, so no defending for you… but it won’t matter because I can select one of my monsters and let him attack directly during the battle phase! Like ESPer Star Sparrow!” Ironhammer’s eyes flashed as Sparrow jumped into his hands and was launched skywards before falling right at Petie with a flying kick… just as his trap lifted.
“I activate Spirit Barrier!” he shouted, finally lifting his head and letting Sparrow see his grin “Now I don’t take battle damage as long as I gots a monster in pway!” he lisped, letting himself giggle as Star Sparrow bounced off an invisible barrier and tumbled back. Sparrow blinked before laughing “Well played! It seems I was mistaken to count you out so soon! Okay then… lets see how you handle this! I play Safe Zone!” his trap lifted “Now the monster I equip this card to can’t be targeted or destroyed by your card effects OR in battle! All it costs is his ability to attack directly! And I’m equipping it to Star Sparrow!” the hero got up and brushed himself off as he started to glow.
“Bu… but dat means…”
“Right! Since Star Sparrow is the only monster I control that you’re allowed to target with effects your Puddingcess won’t be destroying any of my other monsters! Not that I’ll let her get the chance! Gairuda, attack her!” the machine bird roared as it dive-bombed the princess making her scream in fright as she shattered and returned to Petie hand as the teddiursa looked at him for a moment while Waltz kicked in “… I DU knu I can choose something other than a monster for her effect yu knu…” he said in an almost annoyed tone as Sparrow looked back at him blankly for a moment before slapping his head “I can’t believe I forgot that!”
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 7100
“And I choose yur Imperial Iron Wall!” Petie said as he pointed at the trap which shattered, leaving Sparrow staring at him blankly for a change “… you do know that when Safe Zone is destroyed the monster goes with it… right?” he asked as Petie just nodded “… okay then? I guess I’ll end my turn… show me your heroic spirit!” he declared, thrusting his hand towards Petie “For such a young innocent your strength is remarkable, so show me it to the fullest extent!” this time Petie laughed a little “Yur kinda silly, yun knu that?” the teddiursa said, making Sparrow smile broadly.
“Of course! It comes with being a hero!”
“Otay den… my draw!!” Petie pulled his card off his deck “I summon Mew-feuille again… and use his power to special summon Madolche Mehple!” the little pink cat appeared again(500/300), this time accompanied by a ram with candy drop horns (0/1800) as they both frolicked happily and powered up (1000/800) (500/2300) “Then I use Mehple’s effect! By moving him to defense mode I can move one of your monsters to defense mode and it’d be stuck there till the end of your next turn… but Ironhammer doesn’t LET you change mode manually!” he said, grinning as Mehple fell asleep and the double of Star Sparrow knelt in defense making the duelist gasp in surprise.
“Now den… all my monsters attack your Star Sparrow!” Petie shouted as Mew-feuille, Majoleine, and Messengelato all attacked the indestructible monster. Due to Spirit Barrier Petie took no damage… but Waltz hit Sparrow for 300 with every attack making him wince. “Now den… I start my second main phase… and I overlay Majoleine and Messengelato to Xyz summon Queen Madolche Tiaramisu!” he shouted as the beautiful and elegantly dressed queen rose up onto the field, comfortably seated on her throne as two orbs circled her (2200/2100) before she powered up due to the Chateau (2700/2100)
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 6200
“Now I’ll set one card and end my turn.” Petie said as Sparrow tapped his chin with a finger and pointed “You have two cards in your hand… and I know exactly which ones they are. Puddingcess and Croiwanssant… I also know you have no Madolche cards in your grave which is why you couldn’t activate its effect…” he drew his card “So consider me curious. What do you have planned?” Petie’s trap flipped revealing Threatening Roar as Sparrow just blinked and then laughed “It’s always nice to receive prompt answers to things isn’t it? Well then, I’ll end my turn!”
Petie nodded and drew “I tribute Mehple to summon my Puddingcess!” he said as the ram vanished for the princess to appear (1000/1000) “But since there’s a monster in my grave she doesn’t get her 800 point bonus.” He said as she folded her arms and pouted, still getting her bonus from the field (1500/1500) “So I’ll use Madolche Manner!” he said as one of the cards he’d set early in the duel finally flipped up “Now I can shuffle Mehple from my grave back into my deck to give all my Madolche monsters an extra 800 attack!” the trap glowed as all the monsters attacks shot up including Mew-feuille (1800/1600), Tiaramisu (3500/2900), and Puddingcess (2300/2300) before she gain her boost for there being no monsters in Petie’s grave (3100/3100). Sparrow let out an impressed whistle as Petie blushed and grinned.
“Now I’ll use Tiaramisu’s effect!” one of the orbs of light was absorbed into her staff as Petie put Messengelato into the grave “And return two Madolche cards in my grave to my deck…” he held up Manner and Messengelato before shuffling the trap into his deck since Chateau let him add the monster to his hand “To send two of YOUR cards back to your deck!” he said as Star Sparrow and Ironhammer vanished back into Sparrow’s deck. Petie giggled and pointed “Mew-Feuille take out Puma!” the pink cat looked at the cat headed warrior and yawned. A moment later Puma shattered. “Puddingcess take out Gairuda!” he shouted as the princess winked at the mechanical bird, causing it to shatter. Both attacks caused Waltz to activate and hit Sparrow for even more damage.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 4800
Sparrow took the damage and grinned “Bravo! Truly bravo! A marvelous turnabout!” he said, clapping as Petie just looked at him in confusion “Such a strong duelist for someone still not potty trained!” he continued on making Petie blush furiously and wonder if him being diapered was that obvious “Now then, strike with all your might! Hold nothing back!” Sparrow declared as he pointed a thumb at his chest. Petie cocked his head to the side before shrugging and pointing as Tiraramisu unleashed a beam of sweets and cakes which knocked the hero backwards almost sending him tumbling into the fountain.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 1300
“An dats all I can du…” Petie said as Sparrow got back up and smiled “Bravo rugrat! You’ve well and truly have backed me into a corner! But as every villain will tell you, a hero is most dangerous…” he dramatically drew his card “When he’s out of options! Swords of Revealing Light!!” Petie squeaked in surprise as the swords of light materialized around him “And next… I’ll set one card and end my turn!” Sparrow said as he slapped his card down “Your turn!”
Petie pouted adorably and pulled his card “So dis is what it’s like when I used dat card on somebody…” what was worse was he couldn’t bounce it with Tiaramisu’s effect since he didn’t have any Madolche cards in his graveyard “I end my turn…” he said, still pouting and resorting to sucking on his thumb in frustration, which made him blush as several members of the audience went “D’aaaaaaaaaw” at the sight.
Sparrow chuckled as he drew “My go! And I play Foolish Burial!” he slapped the spell down as a card Petie recognized as ESPer Star Sparrow slipped out of his deck and into the grave. The teddiursa’s eyes narrowed as he knew this meant his first attempt at a direct attack would fail… but that COULDN’T be this guy’s plan. Waltz would destroy him if he tried to use that combo. Sparrow just smiled and motioned for Petie to take his turn as the teddiursa drew and looked over his hand. Six cards and he didn’t feel comfortable playing any of them since he had NO clue what Sparrow was planning. Either way he could discard on of his monsters to get to use Tiaramisu’s effect next turn “I end my tuwn.” He lisped around his thumb, getting more giggled from the crowd.
“I draw!” Sparrow looked at his card for a moment before activating his facedown “I play Call of the Haunted!” ESPer Star Sparrow leapt out onto the field, grinning confidently (3000/1500) “And I play Advanced Draw! Now I’ll tribute him to draw twice!” just as quickly as he appeared the hero vanished “And then I’ll use Magic Planter! Thanks to Star Sparrow being tributed instead of destroyed Call of the Haunted is still in play and I can destroy it to draw two cards!” he said as the trap shattered and he pulled more cards from his deck.
He looked them over and quickly set one monster “Your turn rugrat and your last one under the swords. Make it count.” Petie shuddered a little, something about how he said that worried him “I dwaw den!” Petie pulled his card and looked them over before setting one facedown. It might ruin his plan to have to discard due to hand limit at the end of his turn but extra insurance never hurt, especially against the unknown. “Otay.. .yu tuwn!” he squeaked around his thumb, getting more coos, as the swords of light finally faded.
“I draw then! And I summon Triple-Star Trion!” he played a card as an unusual monster appeared. It was an elf like creature in a blue floppy nightcap and matching high collared long sleeved shirt with a single star on the front. Thanks to the nightcap Petie could only see its pointed ears and big cartoonish eyes as it wved to him (100/100) “And I’ll flip summon my second Triple-Star Trion!” he said as he flipped his facedown monster revealing a similar elf, this time dressed in a green cap and shirt with two stars on the front (100/100). Petie looked at them for a moment, his curiosity got the better of him and he asked.
“Is dere a third one?”
“Yep! And he wears red! But that doesn’t matter right now cause I’m playing Monster Reborn! Come on back Star Sparrow!” the two elves squeaked in surprise as the hero jumped back out onto the field (3000/1500) “… now then young one I’m going to summon a card I prefer not to use because it is powerful enough that pulling it out without just cause would make me a villain.” He pointed dramatically at Petie “Feel pride in your small chest that you’ve back me into such a corner!”
He slapped a spell card onto his disk “First I play Galaxy Queen’s Light! Now all my monsters become the same level as Star Sparrow! Level 10!” a phantasmal and beautiful lady in a queen outfit appeared behind his monsters and waved her staff making both Trion’s glow as their level’s shot up “And now I’m overlaying them together to Xyz summon my strongest monster!” all three of them turned into orbs of light and flew behind Sparrow before crashing together and forming a swirling galaxy that something large started to rise out of.
Petie’s jaw dropped in awe as the huge thing revealed itself to be some kind of huge purple spaceship… which then proceeded to unfold like one of his Transformers toys. Taking shape into a combat robot almost as big as Obelisk the Tormentor himself as its head fully unfolded. The robot’s eyes flashed as it held up its arms dramatically, the sound of a huge explosion accenting its arrival (5000/2000) “Meet Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer!” Sparrow shouted proudly as the thing floated down behind him “I’m sure you’re terrified but I assure you that as a hero I’ll do everything I can to make this quick and painless for you…”
“It’s so cooooooooooool!!!”
Sparrow stared for a moment before laughing “Right, you do seem like the little boy who would love giant robots. Anyway in case you were wondering I’ve been holding on to Galaxy Queen’s Light for a while… felt good to finally use it. Now I use my Robot’s effect! By removing one Xyz material from it all spell and trap cards on the field are destroyed!” Petie squeaked at this and reached for his face down card… but it wouldn’t’ activate. Sparrow just smiled “Did I forget to mention? Spell and traps can’t be chained to his effect either. Now go! Galaxy Crusher!!” he shouted as the robot absorbed one of the three orbs circling it and slots on its body opened revealing gun turrets. Petie would have said cool again but he didn’t get the chance as the robot opened fire obliterating all his spells and traps.
Without the power of Madolche Chateau all his monsters stats dropped (1300/1100), (3000/2400), (2600/2600) and he gulped as he realized what was about to happen. “Please don’t hold this against me young guest… Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer! Attack his Queen with Grand Galaxy Crusher!!” again the gun ports opened up and Petie squealed as his queen was obliterated, knocking him on his bottom and bouncing him back a little as Sparrow set the last card in his hand “I set one face down and end my turn!” he said as Puddingcess’s atats dropped due to their being a monster in the grave (1800/1800).
Petie: 5200 Star Sparrow: 1300
Struggling to get back up and thankful his thick diaper provided padding for that landing Petie drew his card “I pway… my second Chateau!” he called as the cake caste rose again restoring the bonus to his monsters (1800/1600) (2300/2300) as he looked over the remaining cards in his hand. He could use Puddingcess’s attack and effect to destroy the giant robot… but then he’d have to get past Star Sparrow again (since he’d seen that was the Xyz material that’d been discarded) and whatever Sparrow’s facedown was… but he had a better plan.
“I play Double Summon!” the spell card he’d just drawn appeared “So I get two summons! And I’ll bring out my Madolche Majoleine!” the sweets witch appeared again with a giggle “And I’ll skip her effect and summon Madolche Croiwanssant!” the little puppy appeared next to her barking happily “And I’ll use his effect to return Mew-feuille to my hand to increase his attack by 300… but also raise his level up to four!” he shouted as the kitty vanished and Sparrow’s eyes went wide as he realized what Petie was doing “So I’ll use them to Xyz summon! Meet my second Queen Madolche Tiaramisu!!” he called as the elegant sweets queen rose up again (2200/2100) as her stats rose due to the chateau (2700/2600)
Sparrow smiled and clapped slowly, letting out a dry chuckle “Congratulations young man, you’ve won. Send my two cards back to my deck.” He said, sounding completely sincere. Petie just looked at him for a moment before risking to ask “What’s your facedown?” which made the hero laugh “It’s a trap called Gamushara. It activates when a defense position monster I control is attacked. It moves them to attack position and if they manage to destroy the attacking monster you take damage equal to its original attack points.” He explained as Petie’s eyes lit up.
“Yu wanted me tu destwoy da wobot…”
Sparrow nods “Yes, I had banked on you attacking with Puddingcess and taking the damage to use her effect to destroy him. Then when you attacked again with you Mew-feuille or whatever other monster you summoned I would summon ESPer Star Sparrow from my grave and use Gamushara to move him to attack mode and damage you. Next turn I’d be able to attack you for the win… but with your Queen there that plan is destroyed.” He finished as Petie nodded and removed one of his Queen’s Xyz materials before returning two of the several Madolche cards Sparrow’s robot had destroyed to send the robot and the trap back to his deck.
“My Puddingcess attacks you directly!” Petie shouted as the princess skipped over only to be blocked by Star Sparrow. She looked at him for a moment… then gave the surprised hero a hug making him shatter. Sparrow gave a smile at this then thrust both his arms out making his cape billow behind him “Very good! Now then rugrat, deal the final blow! Show me no mercy!!” he declared, a big grin on his face. Petie giggled and nodded “Yu got it! Tiaramisu! Finish it!” as the Queen lifted her staff and blasted Sparrow sending him skidding back before he finally fell forward onto his knees.
Petie: 5200 Star Sparrow: 0
Petie’s monsters and chateau started to fade as he finally realized his family had been behind him cheering for him the whole time. He squeaked as Momma stepped forward and scooped him up. She hugged him close and rubbed noses with the blushing cub “That’s my little boy!” she cooed proudly as all Petie could do was squeak and cuddle back as he heard the crowd cheering. It was all so very overwhelming that he was fairly sure he needed a dry diaper now.
“Congratulations!” both bears looked to find Star Sparrow standing there, a big smile on his face “You have defeated me, the immortal hero of Starter Deck City! Or one of them at least…” he chuckled and rubbed the back of his head before giving them a thumbs up “So once again, congratulations you little prodigy! And to you two ma’am for raising such a talented little boy!” he added “Now then since I’m a hero of my word I believe I owe you a prize… and despite it bruising my ego being beaten by a toddler in diapers means I owe you a big one…” he said as he reached into a pouch hooked to his belt and dug around for a moment before pulling out what looked like a gift card with ten stars printed on the front.
“Here you go ma’am! Hand this to the cashier at the hotel you’re staying at to not only get a bump up to the next highest quality room but to also get to extend your stay by two days!” he said as he handed it to her before digging into the pouch and pulling out something else “And this is for you little guy! A little something to remember me by!” he added handing a copy of the ESPer Star Sparrow card to Petie before turning and taking a few steps “I hope you enjoy your stay at Duel World and I look forward to seeing more from you little prodigy!” he said, turning to give them a bow “And now the immortal hero, ESPer Star Sparrow says goodbye to you all!”
And with that there was a flash of light and smoke and with the brightly colored cloud dispersed the hero was gone leaving the crowd in awe. Momma giggled and went back to the rest of her family “Come on, lets hurry back to the hotel before somebody wants Petie autograph.” She kissed her blushing sons head and smiled “He needs a change by now anyway I’m sure.” She added making him blush more as they hurried on their way.

Duel World
Spirit of a HeroDuel World was awe inspiring. Ever since they’d gotten off the boat the sights and sounds had been almost overwhelming. Petie toddled along, looking up slack-jawed at the sheer number of sights. Momma had gotten them a two day stay at the famous “Duel World” for vacation… which considering the price of admission was definitely really expensive. To be honest Petie felt a bit guilty about it since he’d mentioned wanting to go here to Momma… but right now he was too wowed to even considering feeling ashamed.
His family oddly enough didn’t stand out too terribly here even though Momma and James still towered over the average person. James had traded his athletic sweats out for a loud Hawaiian shirt and slacks while Momma was dressed a bit less loudly with a simple button up shirt and jeans, both of which hugged her figure. A baby bag was slung over her shoulder as she pushed the twins along in the stroller. Holly and Carol were dressed in just their diapers, t shirts, and hair bows (yellow for Holly, blue for Carol) and were cooing and squeaking excitedly at everything around them.
Rose meanwhile was wearing an outfit that might get her mistaken for one of the park’s cosplayers. It was her recreation of a female Obelisk Blue blazer and skirt with high socks and matching gloves. Her long hair fell freely down her back. Next to her, and with instructions to hitch a ride on her tail if he started to fall behind, was Petie. His cheeks flushed red as he toddled along, very aware of how he was dressed. A simple red t shirt under big blue overalls that did their best to hide just how thickly diapered he was underneath (Momma had insisted since he had more than a little trouble making it to the restroom last time they visited an amusement park. This way she could change him as needed without worrying).
The only thing that really stood out among the family was that Petie was the only one wearing a duel disk. The baby blue contraption on his arm was one of the non-standard models, made originally for children ages 5 to 7. As such it had a big lifepoint counter, all the sharp edges had been rounded, and it was made with a built in “Kill Switch” to turn itself off if the duel got too intense for little kids. The first thing Petie had done when he got it was to deactivate and take out the kill switch. He wanted a proper duel disk but most of them were way too big to fit properly on his arm so for now he was stuck with this.
The family was currently going through “Starter Deck City” since they’d already dropped their luggage at the (admittedly cheap) hotel they’d be staying at for the night. On either side of them were brightly colored buildings themed after monsters of all kinds from Goblins to Elemental Heroes and staffed with workers often dressed accordingly. Considering the somber colors of the Skyscraper hotel district they just came out of it was almost overstimulation for Petie as the family finally paused at a fountain with a statue of Red Archery girl in the middle, water shooting up from the tip of the arrow she was pointing skywards as well as from around her.
“Now then… I think Toon World would be our first stop.” Momma said, pointing at the fold out map of Starter Deck City she’d picked up along the way. Rose looked at her in confusion as she picked up and gently bounced a protesting Petie in her arms “Why? I thought we were going to keep the twins with us. If I remember right Toon World is where the daycare center is.” She asked as Momma chuckled “True… but it’s also where the merry go round is… and I know a certain teddy who loves merry go rounds.” She added patting Petie’s head as the blushing teddiursa looked away, unable to deny it.
Suddenly an explosions got all of their attentions as they turned and saw a duel in progress. A Dark Armed Dragon had just used its power to nuke the field and had attacked some poor duelist directly, dropping his lifepoints to 0. The dragons owner, a gleefully grinning Krookodile dressed like a reject from West Side Story, laughed “That makes seven! Who wants to be my 8th straight win!?” he shouted as he eyed the crowd “Come on! Step up if you aren’t cowards!” he called making Momma shake her head.
“Naturally there’s duelists eager to feed their egos here… lets go before he gets desperate for a new challenger and starts calling out people randomly.” She said as she pushed the stroller in the direction of Toon World, James and Rose (who was still carrying Petie) following after her. Petie looked over Rose shoulder at the still posturing croc, wondering if he could have taken him on.

Toon World was an assault of bright colors, cheerful music, and activity as they arrived by passing through a gate made to look like the storybook from the spell card. All around were brightly colored stalls and attractions from bumper cars to a little kiddie rollercoaster and a Ferris Wheel going in the distance. The stalls were brightly colored and most of the attractions were based on or related to Toon monsters in some way. It was almost nauseatingly cheerful and childish, at least to Petie, but the rest of his family seemed not to mind.
Rose finally sat him down as Momma checked her map again, trying to find the Merry-go-Round was. Petie meanwhile was left to his own devices as James tried to help Momma plan how to get to the Merry-go-Round from the gate and Rose had drifted right over to a “Pop the Balloons” game stand in an attempt to win the large Blue Eyes Toon Dragon that had caught her eye. It wasn’t that he couldn’t have fun here… it’s just he was too embarrassed to. A teen, even a diapered one, on a bunch of baby rides? He might enjoy being babied a little but not in a place as public as this…
His thoughts were interrupted as something caught his eye. It was a large building, the entrance modeled after a cartoonish, shining silver castle popping out of the Toon World book. He felt like he should recognize it but he just couldn’t place from where. His curiosity got the better of him as he waddled over. Looking up at it for a moment he could see the sign above the door said “Shine Palace”, which he recognized from a car… but he remembered hearing it when Momma described the park as well. He just couldn’t remember what it was. Shrugging he waddled in to see.
“Welcome to the Shine Palace 24 hour daycare center! Oh? Why hello there little guy! Where’s your mommy?” Petie went pale as he finally remembered what the shine palace was as a gardevoir dressed as Counselor Lilly scooped him up. Like the other time Petie had been caught like this his speech went with his composure as a strew of baby babble came out of his mouth as he tried to tell the lady this was a HUGE misunderstanding. She just giggled and tickled his tummy before poking his nose playfully.
“Yes a goo goo ba boo to you to!” she said as she sat him on a nearby counter, pulling out a little bar scanner like device hooked into the clipboard she was carrying. She lightly waved it over the small badge hooked to Petie’s shirt. They’d each been given one when they’d paid the admission fee. He saw a flash of light from the clipboard and realized it must be some kind of tech-pad. “Lily” giggled softly “Petie Julafton, child’s ticket, here with his family for two days…” she read off as it dawned on Petie the badges must contain info about the guests in case something went wrong and probably could serves as locators too. Unfortunately since it was easier and cheaper than coming in as a teen he’d gotten in free as a child 5 and under so there was no way to prove he wasn’t a toddler.
A few more taps of the tech-pad and “Lily” smiled at him “There! Your parents and big sister are being alerted that you wandered in here so they can pick you up… or sign you in.” she giggled and patted his head making Petie feel even smaller and younger as he blushed furiously “Cause you seem like a sweet little boy… now then…” there was a familiar snap as Petie squeaked and his overalls fell “Oh calm down, most little ones are diapered for the park so their parents don’t have to hunt down bathrooms.” She said cheerfully as she checked a squirming Petie “Yep, dry and clean!” with a snap his overalls were back up, the teddiursa’s dignity no longer with him.
“Now lets drop you off with the other little ones.” She cooed gently rubbing Petie’s tummy as she carried him further in. Passing through a toddler gated threshold Petie found himself in a playroom like the one from Leanna’s orphanage with a fenced off section for the toddlers and younger babies and the older children having their own section. Oddly enough most of the toys were duel monsters themed as he found himself plopped down on his bottom next to a Baby Tiragon plushie. Sighing and folding his arms in a pout he looked around at the other little kids and wondered how long he’d be stuck here.
There was a beeping from the clipboard as “Lily” sounded surprised “Wow that was fast!” Petie squeaked as he was scooped back up and carried right back out where he found Rose waiting for him. “You’re his big sister… Rose?” “Lily” asked as she looked at the kangaskhan while Petie immediately made grabby hands to her making both girls giggle “I’ll take that as a yes.” The psychic said as she put Petie into Rose’s arms “You might want to invest in a stroller for him, it’d keep the little cutie from wandering off.”
Rose giggled as Petie blushed furiously “Don’t worry, I’m sure he won’t do it again. Thanks for watching him!” she said as “Lily” just giggled and waved to them as they left “It’s my job, take care you two!” she called as Petie weakly waved back as they went out the door back to the rest of the park.

One Merry-go-Round ride, a Ferris Wheel ride, and a good amount of cotton candy later the family was heading back to their hotel room so Rose could drop off all the plushies she’d won and Momma could feed the twins without attracting unwanted attention. Petie was waddling along happily with them, licking the remains of his last serving of cotton candy from his face, as they neared the Red Archer Girl fountain again. They heard another explosion as Momma sighed.
“Is he STILL at it?” she asked as they finally got close enough to see… and found the krookodile from earlier sprawled out on his ass, his lifepoint counter reading 0. Across from him was a cosplay duelist posing dramatically. It was a young man dressed in a skin tight, or maybe it was his skin, blue grey body suit with pale blue markings on it. A huge brown belt was around his waist and another one acted as the collar of his long black cape with red lining. His hair spiked up in an impossible, anime-ish style and his head seemed to be made of the same blue grey material as his body. A flared purple zorro-like mask covered his face and solid red eyes. He grinned and took cards off his sleek and futuristic duel disk.
“THAT is what becomes of villains who make trouble in this fair city! Now be gone! Or else I shall thrash you again!” the character said, his voice surprisingly deep and commanding for how spritely he looked, as he cracked the ground with a whip sending the krookodile scurrying off like his tail was on fire. The character laughed deeply and posed again “Worry not fair guests! The villain has been dealt with and you can resume your merry making in peace!!” he called as Petie, again not thinking as he did so, toddled up to him and asked.
“Who are you?”
The character let out a boisterous laugh and gave Petie a big brotherly pat on the head “You have a point there little guest…” he suddenly did a series of backflips Petie could barely see them before launching himself skyward and landing on top of the fountain statue before striking a pose “I have yet to introduce myself! Listen well my precious guests to the words of a hero!!” he shouted before slowly crossing his arms over his chest “For I am one of the Challenge Duelists of this fair city!” he suddenly thrust his duel disk arm skyward “For I AM the hero from the Different Dimension!”
He waved his other arm out as if scanning across the crowd with it “The strength of family is my power!”
With a snap like motion he thrust his other arm out in front of him “The ties of friendship are my strength!!”
He grinned and crouched before launching himself skyward again, posing in mid-air “And no matter what happens I will never fail those who I’ve sworn to protect!!”
“For I am ESPER STAR SPARROW!!!” he shouted as out of nowhere fireworks went off behind him in colorful flashes of light leaving equally colorfully smoke behind as Sparrow started to descend, doing flips that would make normal gymnasts green with envy before landing on his feet on the fountains edge and thrusting his arm with the duel disk out “And I am extending a formal challenge to whoever wishes to face a hero! Fabulous prizes will go to those who claim victory in this battle of honor… but be warned for true heroes never lose!”
“I’ll take that challenge!!”
The large audience that had gathered to watch that display blinked in confusion as Sparrow was surprised enough he nearly lost his balance and fell into the fountain as they all looked at Petie. The teddiursa grinned as he waddled back to Momma “Can I have my deck pwease Momma?” he asked as the ursaring gave him a worried look “Are you sure Petie? The challenge duelists are supposed to be really strong…” she said as Petie just gave her a pleading look with sad teddy eyes till she sighed and pulled his deck out of the baby bag “Very well… but be careful okay?”
“Yaaaaay! Tank yu Momma!”
Sparrow coughed lightly into his hand as he looked to Momma “Are you sure Ma’am? I mean no disrespect but this might be a little too intense for someone as young as your son.” He said, trying to say this as politely as possible, which just made Momma chuckle “Oh I think you’d be surprised Mr. Sparrow. Petie is a bit more skilled at this game then his looks let on.” She said making him look from her to Petie and back for a moment as the teddiursa slipped his deck into his duel disk.
Finally Sparrow coughed into his hand again and walked a few paces for Petie before turning to face him “Very well then, it is unbecoming of a hero to face one so young but if you believe you are up to the challenge… then it is also my duty as a hero to test your strength and help you grow!” he declared tossing his cape out dramatically as he pointed at the teddiursa “Well then, Petie was it?” he asked, waiting for Petie to nod before continuing “Well then Petie consider yourself my opponent! I will show you no mercy but please fight back with all your strength or else accepting my challenge will have been meaningless!”
“Wasn’t gonna hold back hero-guy.”
“Glad to hear it rugrat… very well then, DUEL!!”
“DUEL!!”
Petie: 8000 Star Sparrow: 8000
“Now then, you may have the first move.” Sparrow said bowing his head a little and motioning to Petie as the teddy nodded and drew “I summon… Madolche Mew-feuille!” he called as the pink musketeer kitten appeared and let out a sleepy meow (500/300) “And his power lets me special summon Madolche Messengelato from my hand!” the child-like postal carrier appeared whistling cheerfully as he stuck a letter into a mailbox made of sweets (1600/1000) “And when he’s special summoned while a beast type Madolche is on the field I can take a Madolche spell or trap from my deck and add it to my hand!” he giggled eagerly as a card popped out of his deck “And I’ll play it! Madolche Chateau!”
The sweets themed castle rose up behind Petie as his two monsters stats rose with it (1000/800) (2100/1500)”And I’ll end my turn there!” he squeaked, chest puffed up in pride at having pulled off that combo as Sparrow clapped “Bravo young guest, bravo! Quite a skillful move for one your age!” he said with a smile as Petie blushed, mostly cause Sparrow likely didn’t realize he WASN’T a little kid, and the hero pulled the card off the top of his deck “Now allow me to respond…”
“I summon one of the members of my “Family”… please give a warm welcome to Beast Warrior Puma!” he said as a puma headed warrior appeared in front of him. It was wearing dark colored knight armor with golden shoulder pads, arm guards, and leg guards along with a deep red cape. He pulled the sword he had stored at his hip out and roared (1600/1000) as Sparrow smiled fondly “Now then… I have him attack your kitten!” he called as Puma jumped forward and cut Mew-Feuille in half making Petie wince “And I know of your monsters effects, it would return to your deck but thanks to your chateau it returns to your hand.” He said as Petie nodded and put the monster back in his hand.
Petie: 7400 Star Sparrow: 8000
“Now then… I use Puma’s effect!” the beast warrior roared as he faded away into motes of light “And tribute him to add a copy of MY card from my deck to my hand… and then I’ll play Monster Reincarnation to discard it and add Puma back to my hand!” he said as in rapid pace he pulled a card from his deck, played a spell, then discarded the card he’d pulled to take Puma out of the grave. Petie just looked at him in utter confusion as Sparrow laughed boisterously “Don’t worry, it’ll make sense soon. Now then I set one card and end my turn.” he said as a facedown card appeared.
“I draw then!” Petie said as he pulled his card and Sparrow’s facedown flipped “And I activate my Imperial Iron Wall!” he said as a huge, gleaming metal wall rose up around them “Now cards can’t be removed from play!” Petie just looked at him in confusion “Bu… dat helps MY deck tu!” he squeaked, obviously confused at this point as Sparrow just smiled back at him “… yur up tu something… I summon Madolche Croiwanssant!” he called as an adorable little puppy wearing a hat and bell on its collar appeared (1500/1200) and received a power boost from the chateau (2000/1700) “And I’ll have Messengelato attack you directly! Courier Strike!” he called as the monster rushed towards Sparrow.
Only to screech to a halt as an identical clone of Sparrow leapt onto the field out of nowhere before crossing his arms in front of himself and kneeling down (3000/1500) Sparrow laughed good-naturedly at the dumbfounded look on Petie’s face “Meet ESPer Star Sparrow, me in other words. He’s a monster with a lot of effects. For one there’s only allowed to be one of him on the field, fortunately I don’t count.” He said, chuckling a little “He also is the only card that can be targeted for your attacks and effects while he’s on the field and if you’d attack me directly while he’s in the graveyard I can special summon him to the field in defense mode, but he’d be removed from play when he’s destroyed again.”
“But he can’t be removed from play! Your trap card prevents it!”
“Exactly! Which makes Star Sparrow the undying hero and defender of the weak! The guardian of justice! And the reason you’ll never get off a direct attack against me!” he boasted as Petie pouted before pointing. Messengelato nodded and threw some letters shattering the defending hero “Since he’ll come back if I attack I won’t and I’ll use Croiwanssant’s effect!” Messengelato vanished “By returning a Madolche monster to my hand I raise his level by one and his attack by 300!” Petie called as the puppy barked happily (Level 4/2300/1700) “And I’ll end my turn.”
“I draw then!” Sparrow said as he dramatically pulled his card “And I’ll set one monster and one facedown!” two cards appeared in front of him “And then I’ll end my turn! Show me your strength my young friend!” he called dramatically as Petie pulled his card. Looking over the teddiursa thought hard… he could summon up his Queen Madolche… but this guy knew about his monsters his effects. He might know about her to and have some way to counter her. Looking over his cards Petie let a devious grin creep across his face.
“I summon Madolche Mew-feuille!” he called as the pink kitten appeared again (500/300) “And he lets me special summon Madolche Messengelato!” the messenger appeared again (1600/1000 “And his effect lets me add a Madolche spell or trap from my deck to my hand!” Petie called as he pulled a card from his deck while his monsters gained a boost from the field (1000/800) (2100/1500) “And then I’ll set two cards and use Croiwanssant’s effect to return Mew-feuille to my hand!” the kitten vanished again as the dogs power and level shot up (level 5/2600/1700) “And I’ll end my turn.”
Sparrow raised an eyebrow at this “No Queen? Looks like you’ve got a plan… I can’t wait to see it!” he said with a grin as he pulled his card “I tribute my facedown Sangan to summon Phoenix Beast Gairuda!” with a screech a gold colored mechanical phoenix with red feathers on its wings and tail appeared in a burst of flames (2500/1200) “And since Sangan was sent to my grave I can add a monster with 1500 attack or less to my hand… so I’ll choose Ironhammer the Giant!” he said as the monster slipped from his deck.
“Next… I’ll have Gairuda attack your Croiwanssant! And when he attacks he gains 300 extra attack points!” Gairuda’s attack rose up (2800/1200) as he reared back and breathed a flame blast at the puppy… as time seemed to slow down and violin music could be heard. Sparrow’s eyes widened as Petie’s trap lifted “T-that’s…” as the teddiursa grinned “Yep! This is Madolche Waltz! Now every time a Madolche monster battle you take 300 points of damage!” Petie called as he winced as his puppy was destroyed and Sparrow winced as his lifepoints took a hit.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 7700
Petie added Croiwanssant back to his hand due to it and his chateau’s effect as Sparrow hung his head in silence for a moment… then burst out laughing “Yes! That’s what I’m talking about! A way to damage me without direct attacks! Show me more of your burning spirit! I set one card and it’s your turn now my young friend!” he said eagerly as Petie just stared at him wondering if taking damage always made this guy act more insane “I draw…” he said looking over the cards in his hand “And set one card… then I summon Mew-feuille again…” the pink cat returned “But this time I’ll use his effect to summon my Madolche Puddingcess!!” he said slapping his card down as the blond hair, pudding themed princess of the Madolche monsters appeared (1000/1000)
“And she gains a boost from my Chateau…” Puddingcess giggled as her points rose (1500/1500) “And since there’s no monsters in my grave she gets a bigger bonus!” Petie shouted as her stats rose even higher (2300/2300) “Then I’ll move Messengelato to defense mode.” He said as the courier knelt down. Suddenly Sparrow broke out laughing good-naturedly again making Petie stare at him “… what’s so funny?” he finally asked, getting a little annoyed.
“You’ll attack with Puddingcess and if I can’t negate it then her effect lets you destroy one of my cards… like my Iron Wall.” He said, hands on his hips “Then next turn it doesn’t matter which of your monsters I’ll destroy since you’ll be able to bring Puddingcess back again and use her power to destroy another card and force me to summon Robin again.” He wagged a finger in front of his face “But then he’d be removed from play and my combo will be gone while YOURS will let you keep bringing out Puddingcess. Sure it’d cost you lifepoints but the end result would be crippling my field presence.”
Petie looked at him with a dropped jaw as Sparrow finished explained Petie entire plan. The cosplay shrugged and smiled “I have a fair amount of knowledge about these cards young one, a colleague of mine uses them… but don’t take that the wrong way though. It’s truly an inspired plan, especially for a rugrat like yourself.” He said, the sincerity in his voice showing he was actually praising Petie “But I’m going to have to ruin it… I activate Compulsory Evacuation Device!” he called as one of his facedowns lifted “This cards lets me return one monster on the field to their owners hand, and I choose…” he chuckled as he saw Petie wince “My Gairuda!”
“… why?” Petie asked, utterly dumbfounded by that move as Sparrow just smiled “… ugh, nevermind! Puddingcess attacks you directly!” he called as once again his attack was blocked by the Star Sparrow clone jumping out onto the field. Petie just rolled his eyes “Fine, I declare my attack again with HIM at the target this time!” he said as Puddingcess skipped over… only for Sparrow’s remaining trap to flip up “Negate Attack! Your attack doesn’t happen and your battle phase ends!” the cosplayer shouted as Petie stomped his foot in frustration “Fine! I set a card and end my turn!”
“Temper, temper rugrat.” Sparrow said in a chastising tone as he drew his card “Get angry and you’ll make mistakes. Now then… I move Sparrow to attack mode!” he called as his clone stood up, making Petie realize just how many attack points it had (3000/1500) “And he’ll attack your kitty! Different Dimension Whip!” Star Sparrow leap at Mew-feuille about to crack it with his whip as Petie activated one of his facedowns “Go Defense Draw!!” he shouted as his trap revealed itself “Now I don’t take battle damage and I get to draw a card!” he said as a barrier of light protected him from the damage as Mew-feuille was destroyed and Waltz chipped away at Star Sparrow’s lifepoints again.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 7400
“Nice save! I’ll set one card and end my turn! Your go rugrat!” Sparrow said cheerfully as a facedown appeared and Petie drew. The teddiursa HAD a way to go on the offensive… but something wasn’t right here. All this guy had done so far was build up cards in his hand and rely on his combo to protect himself. It was an effective combo without a doubt but still… what was he leading up to? Petie looked at the trap Defense Draw had given him, with that he could find out at least.
“I set one card… and summon Madolche Majoleine!” he called as the young witch riding the desert fork like a broom appeared (1400/1200) and giggled innocently as she powered up from the chateau (1900/1700) “And her power lets me add a Madolche monster from my deck to my hand…” the card slips from his deck as he looks over his hand again and bows his head “Your turn…”
“Ah, I see…” Sparrows said, taking this as a sign Petie was out of tricks “Very well then… in respect of your abilities so far I’ll give you a truly spectacular finish!” he said pulling his card off his deck “For you have shown true braver and skills so far! Now from my field and deck I send one ESPer Star Sparrow, Ironhammer the Giant, Phoenix Beast Gairuda, and Beast Warrior Puma to my grave!” he took Star Sparrow off his disk as he sent it and three cards in his hand to the grave “To special summon Dimensional Jet Iron!!”
With a roar something came flying out of the sky to hover behind Star Sparrow. Petie’s jaw dropped as he stared up in awe at the huge machine. It was a white, red, and gold mix of a spaceship and a high speed jet… and it was HUGE!! It revved its engines as it hovered over Star Sparrow (4000/0) “Behold! Dimensional Jet Iron!” Sparrow said proudly “But don’t worry my young friend… I won’t be attacking you with it.” Suddenly the blue cockpit on top of the jet flew open “Because I can tribute it to special summon the entire Sparrow Family from my graveyard!” the jet shattered into motes of light as four figures jumped from it.
“So everyone, lets give a warm welcome to ESPer Star Sparrow!” the clone of the duelist appeared once again (3000/1500) “Beast Warrior Puma!” as the puma headed warrior appeared on one side of Star Sparrow (1600/1000) “Phoenix Beast Gairuda!” with a roar the mechanical phoenix appeared on Star Sparrow’s other side (2500/1200) “And making his debut appearance in this duel Ironhammer the Giant!!” a huge robot rose up behind the trio, looking like something out of an old cartoon. It was cylindrical with black armor with gold accents and huge arms. It had a single spike on its head and one on each shoulder as its eyes flashed and it knelt down in defense mode (900/3500).
“Now then, I’ll start with Ironhammer since you haven’t seen him before.” Sparrow said, smiling proudly “As long as he’s in play monsters can’t change their battle positions, so no defending for you… but it won’t matter because I can select one of my monsters and let him attack directly during the battle phase! Like ESPer Star Sparrow!” Ironhammer’s eyes flashed as Sparrow jumped into his hands and was launched skywards before falling right at Petie with a flying kick… just as his trap lifted.
“I activate Spirit Barrier!” he shouted, finally lifting his head and letting Sparrow see his grin “Now I don’t take battle damage as long as I gots a monster in pway!” he lisped, letting himself giggle as Star Sparrow bounced off an invisible barrier and tumbled back. Sparrow blinked before laughing “Well played! It seems I was mistaken to count you out so soon! Okay then… lets see how you handle this! I play Safe Zone!” his trap lifted “Now the monster I equip this card to can’t be targeted or destroyed by your card effects OR in battle! All it costs is his ability to attack directly! And I’m equipping it to Star Sparrow!” the hero got up and brushed himself off as he started to glow.
“Bu… but dat means…”
“Right! Since Star Sparrow is the only monster I control that you’re allowed to target with effects your Puddingcess won’t be destroying any of my other monsters! Not that I’ll let her get the chance! Gairuda, attack her!” the machine bird roared as it dive-bombed the princess making her scream in fright as she shattered and returned to Petie hand as the teddiursa looked at him for a moment while Waltz kicked in “… I DU knu I can choose something other than a monster for her effect yu knu…” he said in an almost annoyed tone as Sparrow looked back at him blankly for a moment before slapping his head “I can’t believe I forgot that!”
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 7100
“And I choose yur Imperial Iron Wall!” Petie said as he pointed at the trap which shattered, leaving Sparrow staring at him blankly for a change “… you do know that when Safe Zone is destroyed the monster goes with it… right?” he asked as Petie just nodded “… okay then? I guess I’ll end my turn… show me your heroic spirit!” he declared, thrusting his hand towards Petie “For such a young innocent your strength is remarkable, so show me it to the fullest extent!” this time Petie laughed a little “Yur kinda silly, yun knu that?” the teddiursa said, making Sparrow smile broadly.
“Of course! It comes with being a hero!”
“Otay den… my draw!!” Petie pulled his card off his deck “I summon Mew-feuille again… and use his power to special summon Madolche Mehple!” the little pink cat appeared again(500/300), this time accompanied by a ram with candy drop horns (0/1800) as they both frolicked happily and powered up (1000/800) (500/2300) “Then I use Mehple’s effect! By moving him to defense mode I can move one of your monsters to defense mode and it’d be stuck there till the end of your next turn… but Ironhammer doesn’t LET you change mode manually!” he said, grinning as Mehple fell asleep and the double of Star Sparrow knelt in defense making the duelist gasp in surprise.
“Now den… all my monsters attack your Star Sparrow!” Petie shouted as Mew-feuille, Majoleine, and Messengelato all attacked the indestructible monster. Due to Spirit Barrier Petie took no damage… but Waltz hit Sparrow for 300 with every attack making him wince. “Now den… I start my second main phase… and I overlay Majoleine and Messengelato to Xyz summon Queen Madolche Tiaramisu!” he shouted as the beautiful and elegantly dressed queen rose up onto the field, comfortably seated on her throne as two orbs circled her (2200/2100) before she powered up due to the Chateau (2700/2100)
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 6200
“Now I’ll set one card and end my turn.” Petie said as Sparrow tapped his chin with a finger and pointed “You have two cards in your hand… and I know exactly which ones they are. Puddingcess and Croiwanssant… I also know you have no Madolche cards in your grave which is why you couldn’t activate its effect…” he drew his card “So consider me curious. What do you have planned?” Petie’s trap flipped revealing Threatening Roar as Sparrow just blinked and then laughed “It’s always nice to receive prompt answers to things isn’t it? Well then, I’ll end my turn!”
Petie nodded and drew “I tribute Mehple to summon my Puddingcess!” he said as the ram vanished for the princess to appear (1000/1000) “But since there’s a monster in my grave she doesn’t get her 800 point bonus.” He said as she folded her arms and pouted, still getting her bonus from the field (1500/1500) “So I’ll use Madolche Manner!” he said as one of the cards he’d set early in the duel finally flipped up “Now I can shuffle Mehple from my grave back into my deck to give all my Madolche monsters an extra 800 attack!” the trap glowed as all the monsters attacks shot up including Mew-feuille (1800/1600), Tiaramisu (3500/2900), and Puddingcess (2300/2300) before she gain her boost for there being no monsters in Petie’s grave (3100/3100). Sparrow let out an impressed whistle as Petie blushed and grinned.
“Now I’ll use Tiaramisu’s effect!” one of the orbs of light was absorbed into her staff as Petie put Messengelato into the grave “And return two Madolche cards in my grave to my deck…” he held up Manner and Messengelato before shuffling the trap into his deck since Chateau let him add the monster to his hand “To send two of YOUR cards back to your deck!” he said as Star Sparrow and Ironhammer vanished back into Sparrow’s deck. Petie giggled and pointed “Mew-Feuille take out Puma!” the pink cat looked at the cat headed warrior and yawned. A moment later Puma shattered. “Puddingcess take out Gairuda!” he shouted as the princess winked at the mechanical bird, causing it to shatter. Both attacks caused Waltz to activate and hit Sparrow for even more damage.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 4800
Sparrow took the damage and grinned “Bravo! Truly bravo! A marvelous turnabout!” he said, clapping as Petie just looked at him in confusion “Such a strong duelist for someone still not potty trained!” he continued on making Petie blush furiously and wonder if him being diapered was that obvious “Now then, strike with all your might! Hold nothing back!” Sparrow declared as he pointed a thumb at his chest. Petie cocked his head to the side before shrugging and pointing as Tiraramisu unleashed a beam of sweets and cakes which knocked the hero backwards almost sending him tumbling into the fountain.
Petie: 7200 Star Sparrow: 1300
“An dats all I can du…” Petie said as Sparrow got back up and smiled “Bravo rugrat! You’ve well and truly have backed me into a corner! But as every villain will tell you, a hero is most dangerous…” he dramatically drew his card “When he’s out of options! Swords of Revealing Light!!” Petie squeaked in surprise as the swords of light materialized around him “And next… I’ll set one card and end my turn!” Sparrow said as he slapped his card down “Your turn!”
Petie pouted adorably and pulled his card “So dis is what it’s like when I used dat card on somebody…” what was worse was he couldn’t bounce it with Tiaramisu’s effect since he didn’t have any Madolche cards in his graveyard “I end my turn…” he said, still pouting and resorting to sucking on his thumb in frustration, which made him blush as several members of the audience went “D’aaaaaaaaaw” at the sight.
Sparrow chuckled as he drew “My go! And I play Foolish Burial!” he slapped the spell down as a card Petie recognized as ESPer Star Sparrow slipped out of his deck and into the grave. The teddiursa’s eyes narrowed as he knew this meant his first attempt at a direct attack would fail… but that COULDN’T be this guy’s plan. Waltz would destroy him if he tried to use that combo. Sparrow just smiled and motioned for Petie to take his turn as the teddiursa drew and looked over his hand. Six cards and he didn’t feel comfortable playing any of them since he had NO clue what Sparrow was planning. Either way he could discard on of his monsters to get to use Tiaramisu’s effect next turn “I end my tuwn.” He lisped around his thumb, getting more giggled from the crowd.
“I draw!” Sparrow looked at his card for a moment before activating his facedown “I play Call of the Haunted!” ESPer Star Sparrow leapt out onto the field, grinning confidently (3000/1500) “And I play Advanced Draw! Now I’ll tribute him to draw twice!” just as quickly as he appeared the hero vanished “And then I’ll use Magic Planter! Thanks to Star Sparrow being tributed instead of destroyed Call of the Haunted is still in play and I can destroy it to draw two cards!” he said as the trap shattered and he pulled more cards from his deck.
He looked them over and quickly set one monster “Your turn rugrat and your last one under the swords. Make it count.” Petie shuddered a little, something about how he said that worried him “I dwaw den!” Petie pulled his card and looked them over before setting one facedown. It might ruin his plan to have to discard due to hand limit at the end of his turn but extra insurance never hurt, especially against the unknown. “Otay.. .yu tuwn!” he squeaked around his thumb, getting more coos, as the swords of light finally faded.
“I draw then! And I summon Triple-Star Trion!” he played a card as an unusual monster appeared. It was an elf like creature in a blue floppy nightcap and matching high collared long sleeved shirt with a single star on the front. Thanks to the nightcap Petie could only see its pointed ears and big cartoonish eyes as it wved to him (100/100) “And I’ll flip summon my second Triple-Star Trion!” he said as he flipped his facedown monster revealing a similar elf, this time dressed in a green cap and shirt with two stars on the front (100/100). Petie looked at them for a moment, his curiosity got the better of him and he asked.
“Is dere a third one?”
“Yep! And he wears red! But that doesn’t matter right now cause I’m playing Monster Reborn! Come on back Star Sparrow!” the two elves squeaked in surprise as the hero jumped back out onto the field (3000/1500) “… now then young one I’m going to summon a card I prefer not to use because it is powerful enough that pulling it out without just cause would make me a villain.” He pointed dramatically at Petie “Feel pride in your small chest that you’ve back me into such a corner!”
He slapped a spell card onto his disk “First I play Galaxy Queen’s Light! Now all my monsters become the same level as Star Sparrow! Level 10!” a phantasmal and beautiful lady in a queen outfit appeared behind his monsters and waved her staff making both Trion’s glow as their level’s shot up “And now I’m overlaying them together to Xyz summon my strongest monster!” all three of them turned into orbs of light and flew behind Sparrow before crashing together and forming a swirling galaxy that something large started to rise out of.
Petie’s jaw dropped in awe as the huge thing revealed itself to be some kind of huge purple spaceship… which then proceeded to unfold like one of his Transformers toys. Taking shape into a combat robot almost as big as Obelisk the Tormentor himself as its head fully unfolded. The robot’s eyes flashed as it held up its arms dramatically, the sound of a huge explosion accenting its arrival (5000/2000) “Meet Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer!” Sparrow shouted proudly as the thing floated down behind him “I’m sure you’re terrified but I assure you that as a hero I’ll do everything I can to make this quick and painless for you…”
“It’s so cooooooooooool!!!”
Sparrow stared for a moment before laughing “Right, you do seem like the little boy who would love giant robots. Anyway in case you were wondering I’ve been holding on to Galaxy Queen’s Light for a while… felt good to finally use it. Now I use my Robot’s effect! By removing one Xyz material from it all spell and trap cards on the field are destroyed!” Petie squeaked at this and reached for his face down card… but it wouldn’t’ activate. Sparrow just smiled “Did I forget to mention? Spell and traps can’t be chained to his effect either. Now go! Galaxy Crusher!!” he shouted as the robot absorbed one of the three orbs circling it and slots on its body opened revealing gun turrets. Petie would have said cool again but he didn’t get the chance as the robot opened fire obliterating all his spells and traps.
Without the power of Madolche Chateau all his monsters stats dropped (1300/1100), (3000/2400), (2600/2600) and he gulped as he realized what was about to happen. “Please don’t hold this against me young guest… Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer! Attack his Queen with Grand Galaxy Crusher!!” again the gun ports opened up and Petie squealed as his queen was obliterated, knocking him on his bottom and bouncing him back a little as Sparrow set the last card in his hand “I set one face down and end my turn!” he said as Puddingcess’s atats dropped due to their being a monster in the grave (1800/1800).

Struggling to get back up and thankful his thick diaper provided padding for that landing Petie drew his card “I pway… my second Chateau!” he called as the cake caste rose again restoring the bonus to his monsters (1800/1600) (2300/2300) as he looked over the remaining cards in his hand. He could use Puddingcess’s attack and effect to destroy the giant robot… but then he’d have to get past Star Sparrow again (since he’d seen that was the Xyz material that’d been discarded) and whatever Sparrow’s facedown was… but he had a better plan.
“I play Double Summon!” the spell card he’d just drawn appeared “So I get two summons! And I’ll bring out my Madolche Majoleine!” the sweets witch appeared again with a giggle “And I’ll skip her effect and summon Madolche Croiwanssant!” the little puppy appeared next to her barking happily “And I’ll use his effect to return Mew-feuille to my hand to increase his attack by 300… but also raise his level up to four!” he shouted as the kitty vanished and Sparrow’s eyes went wide as he realized what Petie was doing “So I’ll use them to Xyz summon! Meet my second Queen Madolche Tiaramisu!!” he called as the elegant sweets queen rose up again (2200/2100) as her stats rose due to the chateau (2700/2600)
Sparrow smiled and clapped slowly, letting out a dry chuckle “Congratulations young man, you’ve won. Send my two cards back to my deck.” He said, sounding completely sincere. Petie just looked at him for a moment before risking to ask “What’s your facedown?” which made the hero laugh “It’s a trap called Gamushara. It activates when a defense position monster I control is attacked. It moves them to attack position and if they manage to destroy the attacking monster you take damage equal to its original attack points.” He explained as Petie’s eyes lit up.
“Yu wanted me tu destwoy da wobot…”
Sparrow nods “Yes, I had banked on you attacking with Puddingcess and taking the damage to use her effect to destroy him. Then when you attacked again with you Mew-feuille or whatever other monster you summoned I would summon ESPer Star Sparrow from my grave and use Gamushara to move him to attack mode and damage you. Next turn I’d be able to attack you for the win… but with your Queen there that plan is destroyed.” He finished as Petie nodded and removed one of his Queen’s Xyz materials before returning two of the several Madolche cards Sparrow’s robot had destroyed to send the robot and the trap back to his deck.
“My Puddingcess attacks you directly!” Petie shouted as the princess skipped over only to be blocked by Star Sparrow. She looked at him for a moment… then gave the surprised hero a hug making him shatter. Sparrow gave a smile at this then thrust both his arms out making his cape billow behind him “Very good! Now then rugrat, deal the final blow! Show me no mercy!!” he declared, a big grin on his face. Petie giggled and nodded “Yu got it! Tiaramisu! Finish it!” as the Queen lifted her staff and blasted Sparrow sending him skidding back before he finally fell forward onto his knees.

Petie’s monsters and chateau started to fade as he finally realized his family had been behind him cheering for him the whole time. He squeaked as Momma stepped forward and scooped him up. She hugged him close and rubbed noses with the blushing cub “That’s my little boy!” she cooed proudly as all Petie could do was squeak and cuddle back as he heard the crowd cheering. It was all so very overwhelming that he was fairly sure he needed a dry diaper now.
“Congratulations!” both bears looked to find Star Sparrow standing there, a big smile on his face “You have defeated me, the immortal hero of Starter Deck City! Or one of them at least…” he chuckled and rubbed the back of his head before giving them a thumbs up “So once again, congratulations you little prodigy! And to you two ma’am for raising such a talented little boy!” he added “Now then since I’m a hero of my word I believe I owe you a prize… and despite it bruising my ego being beaten by a toddler in diapers means I owe you a big one…” he said as he reached into a pouch hooked to his belt and dug around for a moment before pulling out what looked like a gift card with ten stars printed on the front.
“Here you go ma’am! Hand this to the cashier at the hotel you’re staying at to not only get a bump up to the next highest quality room but to also get to extend your stay by two days!” he said as he handed it to her before digging into the pouch and pulling out something else “And this is for you little guy! A little something to remember me by!” he added handing a copy of the ESPer Star Sparrow card to Petie before turning and taking a few steps “I hope you enjoy your stay at Duel World and I look forward to seeing more from you little prodigy!” he said, turning to give them a bow “And now the immortal hero, ESPer Star Sparrow says goodbye to you all!”
And with that there was a flash of light and smoke and with the brightly colored cloud dispersed the hero was gone leaving the crowd in awe. Momma giggled and went back to the rest of her family “Come on, lets hurry back to the hotel before somebody wants Petie autograph.” She kissed her blushing sons head and smiled “He needs a change by now anyway I’m sure.” She added making him blush more as they hurried on their way.

Sweet ending! (no pun intended) I personally expected the Galaxy Queen, but still. Dang! Giant monster transforming robot! My favorite kind!

Oh gawd I don't know if I wanted to laugh real hard or to facepalm myself to death because of sparrow. The scene with the daycare was priceless and to see him beat sparrow at the end made it all the more funny.Wonder what rose going to do with all those duel monster plushies *looks at the toon dark magician girl in the pile*.

Well the gardi/gallade are one of my faves so I have a weak spot for them X3~~ Lilly seems really nice I laugh when she just checks Petie and she just all smiles.
