I LOVE THIS

An excellent, interesting new direction mate. I like the effect of it, and would love to see a cartoon version of Jolan too, I reckon you could have a lot of fun tweaking him in that style.

The picture has a good amount of energy in it, and the few sketched lines around and in his hair give it a good weight and prevent it from just being a patch of plain blue. The light brown on the side of the face, mouth and muzzle does the same thing as I mentioned with the hair, and is done to good effect.

The only minor downside I see is he looks a tad bit cross-eyed - like someone just bonked him with a 2x4 (or maybe he's waking up from the sleep where you saw him). Perhaps tweak the eyes a bit if you do revisit it?

I like the way it tapered off, but I think in your next drawing you should stick that blue and black scarf on him that you've been wearing in some of your more recent photos - a bit of retconning, out with the silver necklace, in with the scarf :D

Yeah, I agree with the Keffiyeh(arabic scarf), idea to put on him. I was totally thinking of doing Jolan in this style too, but haven't gotten to it just yet. :) How's things over in Vietnam, I dont think I've seen you on MSN a lot lately, things going alright?
