NOTE: There was no harming of the animal in any way, shape, or form for this picture! In fact, the standard poodle adores being groomed and he avidly stares at himself in one of the mirrors at the parlor while it's being done. Sparkle-butt.

This was a joint venture with my sister who is a dog groomer for a local place where we live. I was feeling really crappy today and she was like, we're painting my dog. Today. Now. We're giving him a mohawk and painting up leopard spots.

I don't groom: my sister did the particular clipping, shaving and neatening of his coat and whatnot and I assisted with painting and dyeing. I helped also with suggestions to certain areas of where to shave and a few other things. It was actually fun. She said I had an artistic eye for it. (Although honestly I'd be too scared to normally groom dogs.)

We purchased natural dyes - safe for even consumption as they are food dyes mixed with vinegar and water (as she says its like painting an Easter Egg.) and a special, harsh chemical free black dye for human hair in the form of powder. Westly will wash out in a few baths, but for now - he's all ready for Party Rockin'~! He even has sparkles in his 'hawk and on his black spots, along with a dash across his muzzle.
