Cute!

Maybe I should try something similar with cute-ifying the treecelot.

It was fun to do and it's cute. =)
I'll use this picture to demonstrate my knowledge of lighting/shading and putting a figure into a 3D plane. I'll also try to throw in examples of composition with the BG. Hopefully it will be a win.

Whether it's tea or cocoa, I'd be sayin, "NOM NOM NOM." :)

I heard it really isn't worth it to get in though.

ArtSpots is difficult, but that's good for me. Every challenge I push myself to rise to meet and then to pass is good. Growth is good and that community is all about growth. That's my ultimate goal.

Also connected to this is business growth and financial growth. =) I'm going to be expanding my "advertising base", so to speak. The more places I've got my name, the better. After I feel grounded and confident enough I'm actually going to start sending "scouts" out to advertise for me, paid of course. =3

I'm really serious about pushing myself into a more professional illustration and design career path. These are the beginning, and floundering steps.

I don't think that's true. AS is very hard to get into, but it is worth it. :) Even for the people who don't get in. I got in a few months back and they've really done a lot to help out my art business with price coaching, help with any art aspect I need, encouragement, and a lot of other things. It's a really good community over there.

Hmmm... Okay.

They did help out a friend of mine when they denied her a few months ago. They showed her how her art can be improved. She WAS shown something that she could do to improve her anatomy a bit, and she didn't like it.

So, I can't remember the EXACT reason as to why she felt it wasn't worth it. Oh, that they're Elitist. She felt that since they only wanted a certain few styles in the art that they host, they wouldn't want her style around there.

Her art HAS improved greatly since that point in time. Her latest art here has shown it, and has plucked a few personal "strings" with me.

Personally, it they do sound elitist to me.

But, I guess that's what comes with perfection.

I wish there was an AS for music.

It's not ALL about elitism... I also start talking about my prices. X3 I can get pretty rough in my journals too. :/

They do help others so they can improve. That's what AS is about. It's about improving your own art. As for style, they have a ton of different styles on AS. They have styles ranging from Balaa's to mine, all the way to Jill0r's.. which are vasty different styles. It's just if you know basic anatomy. If not, they are there to help you so you can join and be accepted. I don't consider that "elitist." That is awesome though that her art is improving. :) Art is a ton of fun, and personally, I think the most fun part of it is when you see how vastly you've improved in a year's time.

Also, for artists who are not accepted into ArtSpots, there is their sister site, Jaxpad, which is affiliated with ArtSpots and anyone can join. For more mature stuff, they have yiffit.

As for music, I think they are working on creating something for music furs, as well as writer furs. :) I'll have to ask again, but I really do remember them saying something about it. :D

I can be a bit of a brute in my LJ too. But, not in selling anything. :P I'm just generally mean. I TRY to be nice. (Do you mind if I add you? You know a couple of my buddies.)

SoundForThought is AWESOME!!! Great name! :) I'll talk to the AS owners tonight and see about the musical fur thing and let them know you'd help promote it. :) I know right now they're still tweaking the website and adding a ton of cool features, but I'll let you know. :)

Yeah. The name was inspired by the way every audio artist in the world can create sound from thought. Hence, Sound-For-Thought. And yes, I will promote the site as much as I can. :)

Let me know if this idea goes through with flying colors or not. :)

Yes, I typically don't go for that overly cute, to the point of childishness; sometimes I like to though.
