Because I like to cross-post things.
This is for
serphire's contest over on dA to design her a new fursona. The awesome lineart is hers.
Reposted description is as follows~
I went with Koolie. Agh I love merle coats~ If I should happen to win, feel free to simplify this of course. I apparently do not know the meaning of "fairly simple" once I start designing. The jagged edges of the markings are just how I do things when it comes to spots; they needn't be followed strictly. The small spots on the legs are randomized. I think this is my first time incorporating gradients into a design on a large scale, and it added just that look I was going for. Making the gray markings on a layer set to a lowered opacity gives them a bit of a gradient as well, but of course that's optional; a flat shade works too. It's a subtle effect. And the eyes... apparently this is what happens when someone tells me "blue/green" (the listed real eye color). A few interpretations of the word are there; bluish green, blue, and green. Tried it with orange (the listed favorite color) but it didn't work out so I incorporated that into the tan/orange markings instead.
