Here he is in color. His story for being tan and silver is one of pilot error. Rodger himself and four other aircraft were fresh off the assembly line, so he had just became friends with the aircraft that is marked in silver. That guy was intended to go into the Pacific but last second decisions had him moved into the European with Rodger. When they arrived to their pilots, none of them were experienced in flying such aircraft as the P-38. First flight went relatively okay, the landing was failed resulting in Rodger getting several scars on his fuselage and loosing his whole left assembly; wing, boom and horizontal stabilizer. He was the only one to survive while the rest perished. The ground crews were able to salvage parts from the wreckage of the others, repairing Rodger alone. Due to this combination of parts the silver tones wont change with the rest of him during seasons, so his natural coat is painted on the topside. Unfortunately this accident and 'surgery' caused some damage to his self confidence making him believe he is 'defective'. The remaining of his campaign he goes on to take down thirteen german aircraft. The last kill he collected was marked different from the rest in a gold rather than black, reasons why he did so only he knows. Not wanting to share them.
This guy was based off a model aircraft I built years ago, same story and such. For the most part I believe I could have confused alot of people with this description. If any questions just feel free to ask.
