I swear, this comic is as much an excuse to make fanciful jewelry as anything. When I have a Tiliquain suit, I will totally wear this necklace with it.

This is a real-life replica of the necklace Heather (Tili) gives Alexi (Zmey) in the comic "The Tishen Transformation." It's an elaborate locket made of steel wire, with a quartz stone hanging from the latch. Hidden inside is a beautiful natural blue-green sapphire.

I love sapphires. Not only do they come in many, many colors, but they're among the hardest and strongest stones in existence. Diamond is harder (more difficult to scratch) but not by much... and diamond is actually less tough: you can crack a diamond more easily than you can crack a sapphire. It makes a great ring stone.
