I can't tell you how much I loved being in Yosemite National Park for a week. The scenery there was absolutely astounding... especially in contrast to the endless flat farmland I'm surrounded by in my day-to-day life. There was no shortage of photography opportunities, which made me quite happy, to say the least.

This was taken part-way through the Panorama Trail, which is an amazing 8.5 mile hike from Glacier Point to the Valley (or vice-versa). For the first 4-5 miles of the trail, I only encountered 4 or 5 people. It was wonderful to have more of a sense of "alone-time" with that beautiful place, away from the growing crowds on the various valley-trails.

Regardless, in this photo we are looking west (thus the title), looking toward Yosemite Valley, from the bridge over Nevada Falls. For an idea of where I'm standing, reference http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8398636/ ...the waterfall to the right is Nevada Falls. I cannot begin to express the sheer amount of water going over these falls. Endless torrents, toppling over themselves and forcing their way through the rocks to be thrown over the edge... I could've watched it for so much longer than I did. Someday I'll go back there.
