Who wakes in the wilderness when night is done
Fancying himself lord of all the land
May see what was not there at the set of the sun
And tremblingly will come to understand
The peril that has passed him in the dark--
Tracks...in the sand.
The coverart for the Wild Cat Card Deck, which is slated for release at FC '08. The deck features a bunch of artists as well as wild cats from around the world. You should check it out. >;]
Couldn't for the life of me get this to scan well. My scanner hates greens with such a deep, loathing passion, I'm starting to suspect a leprechaun stole it's wallet.

This is absolutely stunning. You captured the essence of feline majesty quite well, and your style just blows me away. It's like realistic...but not quite. I can't really describe it to be honest, but what I can say with certainty is that it's unique and brilliant! Coloring technique is gorgeous and the greens yellows and oranges go so well together without clashing horribly (I bet the original looks much better too), and your attention to detail is also admirable.
All that aside, the one thing that I am so ecstatic about is the fact that you got the leopard's stare down perfectly! I swear that's exactly how they look at you, with a "dangerous intelligence" and curiosity. The eyes, the right paw slightly lifted, and that little feline grin... it's perfect, classic leopard!
I want to say more, because this picture is so worth it, but I can't think of anything else! Oh well, actions speak louder than words :)

Amazing eyes and smile. Love the paws as always. Markings are just purrfect. Damn, you've got some talent.
I can imagine this would work great as the card deck cover art... course, that's just your excuse for posting this excellent homage to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard coming out next Friday, innit?! :XD
