I see a rose, close to its end... its time running short... but still, it finds itself trying to appeal to the outside world. The reds on its petals fade, but it still has that beauty that a rose naturally holds... its leaves betray it though, showing its true age... it worries that others might judge it by its flaws and not its graces. It thinks its petals are ugly, and that any prettiness they do have is overshaodwed by the ugliness of it leaves. Beauty has become all too much a thing of worship for this flower... it expels its energy in trying to look attractive for onlookers, rather than really just enjoying itself... it's become too busy looking to good to just relax... it will die in vain, losing all its beauty and turning into mulch for the next generation... why won't it learn? Why won't it see the value in slowing down, not worrying about things like looks and all those useless things? Why won't it just stop and enjoy life??? Because it knows no better... it is a flower, built for beauty... it saddens me to see a thing wasting its life on such things...

... me? I like to take things slow and enjoy the view. I don't need to look good to make myself feel good; I already feel good as is. besides, this gives me time to truly enjoy the things around me... to truly stop and smell the roses. ;)
