Wasteland Cynder

This one is also an oldie, if less so. Even though the anatomy is more in proportion to what I wanted, it still feels far to 'frogish'. I made her anorexic for the conflict for the story, but it REALLY grates on me when some says "lol she should eat a hamburger." As if it's that's all it takes to solve the problem. Not grasping that eat disorders are more then looking a certain weight. It's not the case for the most part. It about controlling something in their life when they feel like they have no control. They want to eat only certain things in a certain way. They want to show people and them selves that they can achieve what other say they can not. It's a very serious issues and I hate it when people don't want to even try and understand. It was this self understand and realizing that I wanted for a conflict in Wasteland Cynder's story. If people could not understand Person vs. person conflict driven story then there was not point in doing it. It's sad because I really enjoyed working on her. Almost to the point of given her a new name and calling her my original character. But I don't think I'll do that. I have no plans on selling anything with her.

oh goodness, you're here! faun has rather missed your wonderful work (faun has been away from deviantart for a long time). this take on cynder was always one of the best and if it made telling the story itself easier, you should definitely make her an original creation just to tell that story (assuming you still want to tell it, that is). :)

It great to see your kickin' around as well! I still have a plan to tell it, but I'm not so sure if I want to change them into original characters, or tell it as I had plan it.

for what it's worth, faun tends to feel a lot better about any given story if it's original. when a story is based around fandom that seems to automatically limit it and the response of fans can outright kill it (this happened to at least one story of faun's). if it can be made original, it tends to be more satisfying in the long run and one has more of a drive to finish (plus, there is the added bonus of acquiring fans of something that is truly yours instead of just getting people who are there for the story's relations to whatever fandom they are in).
Thought I commented on this - this is my fave rendition of an anthro-Cynder because it's refreshing to see a rendition of her where she hasn't been turned in to a big-tittied slut. Loving the overall shape and colours you gave her redesign - the lack of tail and wing blades suits this rendition - makes the design flow nicely.
