Radar is a year and a half old basset hound/Shepard mix (well that's what they told me at least as I plan on getting him tested genetically because I'm curious as to what his background is). He's only about 15 inches tall. and lays in very odd ways. After many years of not having a pet we decided to get a dog and I found him online on a website for the Cuyahoga County Animal shelter. I couldn't pass him up so we went to visit him early last week. He was laying facing away from the main aisle in his cage and when we came up and said "Hi" he turned around and came up to the cage door, sniffed our fingers and then jumped to the top of his cage which was about as tall as I am (5'8"). I'm pretty sure he is hiding springs in his wee little legs. We spent some time with him and decided that we'd adopt him.

Friday we brought him home and so far he's doing pretty well. He's very sweet, understands "Sit", hasn't had any accidents in the house. His only problem is with my brothers dog, Huxley, who is a gigantic beast compared to my pup. Hopefully someday they can be friendly towards each other but I think Radar is still getting used to things so he's very territorial. He loves people though and is very polite.
