Because I could I stayed up toying around with colors to see if I could find something that would work. All I knew is that I wanted his body to be a "dark silver". Also familiarising myself more with my image drawing program.
I suck at color choices btw. It's why I've never colored many of my older designs as well. When it's colored this looks like a fucking digimon, which was not my intention. :/

Qexzayr is a major character of mine, an Elder Dragon that's the beginning for a story of mine that I'll get down to writing one day.
The rainbow-colored stones are Iridescite, the gem that was wrought into the shackles of and unto Qexzayr itself in order to seal and suppress its power. Qexzayr would end up being banished in an asteroid composed of this magic-absorbing Iridescite.
