Another picture I drew on my DeviantART account, and this is a better portrait of my werewolf character Siofra. In my story, she is born with a mark that resembles life on her forehead, an oval. It is a bit difficult to explain, and the more I explain it the more cliché I feel the story is, lol.
Anyway, the oval represents life: the high peaks where life is good, and the low peaks where life is miserable and dark. The mark is randomly given to those born with a special gift, and it is that their pelt is able to bring the dead back to life. Siofra is the fourth born with this mark, and the mark has occasionally appeared over thousands of years.
In Greek mythology, it is said that King Lycaon of Arcadia was curious about a man who walked around claiming to be Zeus. Not believing that the man was the god, he invited Zeus to dinner and served him meat, but the meat was the flesh of his youngest son. Zeus, being a god, knew of this, and turned Lycaon into a wolf, to where the king fled and was never seen again. There are also other stories of what happened to Lycaon, such as being eaten by his own horses, but I'll stick with the werewolf curse.
The king was enraged by what the god had done to him, and for years he attacked his own people and even his own sons, killing or spreading his curse to them. I haven't thought what would happen yet, but the king returns to power with a strange amount of control over his bestial nature, and his oldest son tries to kill him to end the madness, blessed with a sword that destroys the soul of whatever it kills by the spirits (which is a whole other place and system, but they act as the "gods" of my world and usually send others out to fix their mistakes so it would look like they (the god) didn't cause the problem, or because they like to watch how everything unfolds for entertainment). Lycaon and his oldest son, Melaeneus, both killed each other in battle, although Lycaon was poisoned by a different sword which killed him two months later. With his last breath, Melaeneus cursed the king's poison, in when every certain amount of victims are poisoned, one will rise up against him. Lycaon's power ended, but his followers continued to strive on in his legacy, and some of his other sons took power and became kings of different colonies, who eventually evolved with the land overtime and started to look different from one another in both body and intelligence. Some stayed mindless and savage, while others slowly uncovered a method that would teach the mindless how to think again and gain control over their animalistic brutality. Although, soon after Lycaon died and his son's body burned, his body was hidden, as they didn't want Melaeneus's curse to completely destroy their king.
So there were three before Siofra. The first was killed by Lycaon's followers, the second one was killed and when his body was skinned and placed over the fallen enemy, it rose back from the dead. The third was closer to finding out the secret of where Lycaon's body was, but was killed by an organization who wants to eradicate all non-humans (that's a whole other story too, and it's very in depth). So eventually Siofra will find the tomb of Lycaon, raise him from the dead, and then kill him with Maelaeneus's sword so that his cursed soul will leave his victims and completely destroy the werewolf bane.
Hahaha... told you it sounds cliché. Dx
OH, and the title translates into "Ein Tural," which is a word that depicts the ones who have the power to end their race forever. Their overall title is "Ein" which means "One", but to differentiate the werewolf Ein from the others her kind added "Tural" which is "to be alive."
