I had the exact same thought, and his name is Eric Blumrich.

Because of the angular shapes, the squat and bulky form, the rough lines? If so, I can understand what you mean.

Yet I must admit, from what I've seen of Blumrich's work (and some of it has impressed me), I would consider Miles-DF the more skilled artist, with a wider range of technique and a greater understanding of sensual, evocative detail. My opinion, nothing more. :)

Perhaps because of the chainsaw, perhaps because of the excellent shoes; but something about this picture really made me laugh out loud.

In Russian, not the fact that the saw has a chain, but the fact that it runs on gas is emphasized, so it's "бензопила" (literally "gasoline saw").

Hope you don't mind these little between-the-lines lessons on Russian? =^.^=

I don't mind them at all -- in fact, I'm collecting them in a notebook. :)

Right now, the main challenge for me is recovering the basic grammar that I've forgotten over the past two decades. "Use 'em or lose 'em" is the sad and painful truth about languages....

These darnened fade-to-grey gammas you sometimes use are extrmely effecient at smoothening the sharp lines and making the drawing more fluent and vibrant.
