Two in one day? WHY NOT!!! =D

This round we have our violent little dratini Sammi facing off against... her Mom!? Ooooh this will NOT end well for Sammi. At ALL. Still should be fun to watch! It's a duel of dragons, Red Eyes vs Blue Eyes happening in this round folks!

When Dragons Fly



“Okay… I like the scenery… but where the FUCK am I!?”

Sammi pouted as she sat down on a rock and put her head in her hands. She was lost on some barren, mist covered mountain and had been wondering around with lost for Arceus knows how long. Growing up in a mountain village she could navigate her way around easily enough… but she was starting to get nervous. There’d been no sounds, no feral pokemon, no nothing… no mountain was naturally this empty. This had to be a dream of some kind… but she didn’t remember every having one like this and it was pissing her off! Kicking a rock off the Cliffside in frustration she resumed navigating her way across the rocky slope…

Until she literally stumbled onto a worn, carved footpath leading through a pass further into the mountain. Since this was the first sign of other creatures she’d seen she followed it, moving silently along. The mist was keeping her from seeing what was up ahead. Finally she stepped into a rounded clearing roughly carved out of the rock. In the center was what looked like a flattened rectangle shaped arena with huge statues of dragon type morphs at each corner… a dragonite, a charizard, a slamence, and a hyredgeion, all female and clothed in what Sammi recognized as the traditional wear of her tribe. She tilted her head in confusion as a large shadow fell over her and she screamed as something grabbed her.

“My wittle dwagon!”

“M-mom!?”

“Hello Sammi dearest! It’s so great to see you!”

“I-it’s good to see you too Mom… but what are you doing in my dreams?”

Sammi looked up at her mother Clare in confusion. The huge, busty, and scantily clad dragonite flew by to visit her in Viridian often enough… but she rarely showed up in Sammi’s dreams. At least not in ones like this. The older dragon cradled and cuddled her only daughter and gently rocked her “Well you see dear this… thing, I’m not really sure how to better describe him, just called me into this dream suddenly. He told me I was going to face you in a duel with some kind of insane stakes.” She explained gently, noting her daughters horrified expression “Oh don’t worry, I beat on him till he agreed to let me face you with no stakes!” she said cheerfully.

“… um… yay?” Sammi squeaked. She wouldn’t put it past her mother to pull of something like that… but she was still trying to grasp the situation as she was carried over to the arena and set on her feet at one end as her mother flew to the other with a single flap of her wings. Sammi just stared for a moment as a bronze colored duel disk appeared on her mother’s arm with a dragon shape on it with a wing serving as the card zones. She felt a weight on her arm and found an identical but smaller disk on her arm.

“… mom?”

“Yes dear?”

“… why do you want to duel me?”

“Well Sammi… dearest… I can’t train you properly due both to our evolution and strength difference… but I’ve always loved to see you grow and get stronger. So please, if it’s okay let me use this duel to test your strength! To see how much stronger my beloved daughter has grown!”

“Mom! You’re making me blush…”

“That’s the right of all parents dear… are you ready?”

“Yeah… duel!”

“Duel!”

Sammi LP: 8000 Clare LP: 8000

“I’ll start!” Calre called pulling a card off her deck “I’ll set on card and end my turn!” she said as a facedown card appeared in her spell and trap card zone as Sammi tilted her head “… you sure mom? You could play a monster if you have one…” Clare just shook her head and smiled “Nope! I’m good for now! It’s your go dear!” she called as Sammi shrugged and drew her card “I play Summoner’s Art!” a spell card appeared in front of her “This lets me add a level five or higher normal monster from my deck to my hand.” The card slipped out of her deck “Then I’ll summon Red Eyes B. Chick!” A red colored egg appeared on her field before shaking for a moment and cracking open revealing a tiny, black colored baby dragon who squeaked adorably (800/500”

“Awwwwwww, that reminds me when you were a baby! You were so tiny and cute!”

“Mom!!”

“Sorry, sorry, continue!”

“… fine. I use Red Eyes B. Chick’s power! By sending him to the graveyard I can special summon my Red Eyes Black Dragon!” the little chick suddenly glowed as the egg shell shattered and it swelled up to a full sized, serpentine dragon covered in black, angular armor and with glowing red eyes as it let out a roar (2400/2000) as Sammi watched its growth spurt enviously for a moment before coughing “Then I’ll have him attack your lifepoints directly! Inferno Fire Blast!” the dragon pulled it’s serpentine neck back and whipped it forward shooting a huge ball of fire at Clare… who took the attack without flinching. Sammi gulped nervously “Then… I set one card and end my turn…” she said as he facedown appeared.

Sammi LP: 8000 Clare LP: 5600

Clare drew and smiled “Very good Sammi! You’ve still got that burning spirit! Now let me respond with my full force!” she called as Sammi could feel a shift in the air that made her knees knock together. “I play Future Fusion!” Clare called as the spell card appeared “So I’ll sent three Blue Eyes White Dragons from my deck to the grave and in two turns I can summon their ultimate form… but why wait? I play Dragon’s Mirror!” another spell card appeared as the three dragons slipped out of her graveyard “This lets me remove dragon types from my field of graveyard from play to summon their fusion!”

There was a blinding flash of light that made Sammi cover her eyes. Once she could see again her jaw dropped. Behind her mom was a HUGE dragon with streamlined white armor like scales and no less than THREE heads with huge fang filled mouths and piercing blue eyes as is spread its huge wings and all three of them roared (4500/3800) “Meet my Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! Made of three normal blue eyes… which you’ll get to meet now! I activate Return from the Different Dimension!” he trap card lifted as three of her monster slots filled “This lets me pay half my lifepoints to special summon as many of my monsters that have been removed from play as possible!”

Sammi LP: 8000 Clare LP: 2800

Three swirling vortexes opened up as dragons emerged from each. They looked like the Ultimate Dragon but smaller and each with only one head… which didn’t make them any less pants-wettingly terrifying as they roared (3000/2500) and Sammi stared in wide eyed horror “Sorry dear… but I’m hoping you have a trick up your sleeve! Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! Attack with Triple Burst Stream of Destruction!” the three headed dragon opened all its mouths and unleashed three blinding lightning like busts of energy all at once that vaporized her Red Eyes and sent her tumbling back.

Sammi LP: 5900 Clare LP: 2800

Sammi sat up and shook her head to clear it… only to find the other three Blue Eyes baring down on her “I hope your face down is something good my wittle dwagon.” Clare said, using her pet name for her daughter, sounding completely sincere “Cause I’d hate it to end this fast.” Sammi just blushed and looked down “… this is a card set I borrowed from Andrew… I HATE using it… but I play Flute of Summoning Kuriboh!” her face down card flipped and a set of pan pipes appeared in her hands ‘Oh for the love of… fine!” she blew a few squeaky notes in them.

Suddenly a furball with big, innocent eyes, little green and clawed hands and feet, and a set of tiny angel wings appeared as it fluttered around happily squeaking “Kuri” (300/200) “I use my flutes second power to summon Winged Kuriboh from my deck… get out of my face!” she fumed as she shoved the affectionate furball aside as it tried to nuzzle her “He’s in defense mode and when he’s destroyed and sent to the graveyard all battle damage I take this turn is reduced to zero!” she finished.

Clare laughed and clapped “Bravo! Well played!” as one of the dragons vaporized the happy furball mid squeak “You’ve survived this round and at the end of the turn my three Blue Eyes would be removed from play again due to Return from the Different Dimension… so I’ll get rid of them before then! I play Mystic Wok!” One of the dragons roared as a huge Chinese wok appeared under it and in a few quick movements stir fried it before vanishing “This lets me sacrifice a monster to gain lifepoints equal to either its attack or its defense! I choose attack of course!”

Sammi LP: 5900 Clare LP: 5800

“Then I’ll use my last two in an overlay network to perform an Xyz summon!” the other two Blue Eyes roared as they turned into glowing orbs and something rose up between them. It was a robotic just as tall as they’d been with a sleek, futuristic look and glowing armor panels letting off huge electric discharges that surrounded it as it roared (3000/2000) “Meet Thunder End Dragon! His power is I can remove an Xyz material from him to destroy ALL other monsters on the field! So Sammi, I’m kind of curious… how will you respond to this? I end my turn.”

How would she respond to this? THAT was the question of the day at this point Sammi thought as she drew her card and looked her hand over. She did have ONE sorta idea… but she’d have to use ANOTHER card she’d borrowed from the rest of her team. Her tail thrashed in annoyance as she looked her options over and fund that outside that card they were just “Get blasted to hell by dragons” and “Lose” as she sighed and set two cards face down “Two cards… and I end my turn.” She said quietly.
as they appeared in her spell and trap card zones.

“Hmmmm, lets see what you’ve got!” Clare called as she drew her card… and one of Sammi’s immediately flipped face up “I’ve GOT Threatening Roar! Now you can’t attack this turn!” she shouted as Clare laughed “Simple move, but effective! Nice! If that’s the case then I’ll just end my turn here then!” she chirped as Sammi pulled her card. “… okay Mom… I’m coming after you… sorta… I summon Masked Dragon!” Sammi slapped the card down as a red and white dragon with a toothy, mask like face appeared in front of her (1400/1100) “And then I’ll activate… ugh… Rainbow Life.” She said, obviously less than happy with the cards name as her other trap lifted up.

Sammi discarded a monster from her hand and suddenly a beautiful, shimmering. rainbow colored aura surrounded her “At the cost of one card this trap turns all battle damage I take for the turn into lifepoint gain!” she called as Clare nodded and smiled “And couple with your dragon’s effect that means…” Sammi pouted and stomped her foot “Moooom! Don’t explain my move before I play it! Anyway Masked dragon attacks your Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon!” she shouted as the smaller dragon flew at the three headed on, fangs bared…

And was immediately vaporized with no visible effort by the fusion monster as the rainbow aura spiked in brightness as Sammi slipped it into her graveyard “And when Masked Dragon is destroyed in battle I can special summon ANOTHER dragon from my deck to the field with 1500 or less attack points! Like my second Masked Dragon!” she called as another identical dragon appeared and roared “And attack again!” just like the first time the dragon was vaporized as the auras brightness spiked and ANOTHER Masked dragon appeared to take its place “And again!!” Sammi called as he dragon was once more destroyed.

Sammi LP: 14000 Clare LP: 5800

“And I’ll use its power to summon my Decoy Dragon!” Sammi called as a small cerulean and yellow baby dragon appeared and squeaked happily (300/200) “And then I’ll end my turn!” she said as she realized her mother was… clapping? “Bravo! Bravo! Wonderfully done my wittle dwagon!” she cheered making Sammi blush brightly “That was an impressive turn around! You’ve even set up a defense too! Decoy Dragon lets you summon up a high level dragon in your graveyard when its attack and swap targets to it right?” she said which made Sammi blush more and look away nervously as she mumbled “Maybe…”

“Well then! Lets see if I can get around that shall we!” Clare called as she drew her card and her Future Fusion glowed “Since it’s been two turns since its activation Future Fusion now summons the monster I chose with it! So come on out Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon two!” she called as another triple headed dragon appeared to join the first as Sammi started to sweat. “Then… I play Monster Reborn!” Clare called as the spell all duelist knew appeared and she special summon a Blue Eyes back from the grave “And I’ll finish it up with Burst Stream of Destruction!”

“… isn’t that the name of your monsters attack?”

“Yep! But it’s also a magic card! By sacrificing my Blue Eyes White Dragon’s attack this round I can destroy all your monsters!”

“…..!!!!”

With a blinding flash of energy Decoy Dragon was vaporized leaving Sammi defenseless “Sorry to do this dearest… but I did promise to come at you with all my strength.” Clare said, sounding genuinely apologetic as she pointed “Attack my dragons! Triple Burst Stream of Destruction times two and Thunder Breaker!!” Sammi screamed as it felt like the apocalypse happening around her through all the energy and explosions as she was almost hurled clean out of the clearing before skidding to a stop flat on her back.

Sammi LP: 2000 Clare LP: 5800

Sammi’s head was spinning as she groaned weakly, feeling like she’d been run over by a tauros stampede… then by the cowboys trying to corral them. She struggled to sit up… only to find her mother had rushed over and picked her up before she could. Sammi blushed furiously as her mom inspected her to make sure there was no lasting damage before nuzzling her head “Think you’re up for continuing?” she asked gently which just made Sammi blush more.

Continuing? What would be the point? Her mother had no less than THREE monsters no card in heck could naturally stand up to in a straight fight. Did she have a chance at all? She didn’t know… but like always she couldn’t bear the thought of losing, much less surrendering as she nodded. Clare’s grin broadened as she kissed Sammi’s head “That’s my precious daughter!” she cooed before carrying a furiously blushing Sammi back to the arena and returning to her position.

“I… I draw…” she weakly pulled her card “… I play Allure of Darkness!” she called as the magic card appeared “I draw two cards… but if I don’t remove a dark type monster in my hand from play I have to discard all of my hand.” She said as she nervously looked at her deck. She only had a trap card in her hand at the moment… could she draw a monster? And if she did would she be willing to get rid of it? At this point she didn’t have any choice but to try as she yanked the cards off her deck “I remove Red Eyes B. Chick from play and set two cards! Turn end!” she shouted slapping them down.

Clare tilted her head a little, looking disappointed but hiding it well “Alright then Sammi, lets bring this to a close. I draw…” suddenly one of Sammi’s traps flipped up “And I activate Birthright! It special summons a normal monster back from the grave like my Red Eyes Black Dragon!” she shouted as the black scaled dragon rose up and roared. Sammi was crossing her fingers. If her mother used Thunder End Dragon’s effect then she’d lose. She NEEDED her to attack for this to work…

“Your trap will activate when I attack huh?”

“…!!!”

Clare laughed “Don’t worry, I’d rather end this seeing what you had planned! Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! Attack with Triple Burst Stream of Destruction!” she shouted as her dragon’s energy assault hurled towards Sammi. Sure enough her trap lifted “I activate Justi-Break! When a normal type monster is attacked this destroys ALL monsters on the field except face-up attack position normal monsters!” she shouted as a bolt of lightning struck the field shattering the two Ultimate Dragons and Thunder End Dragon in huge explosions. Sammi smiled for a moment… till she realized she’d forgotten about her mom’s Blue Eyes White Dragon which was still there, completely unharmed. Hre legs shook for a moment before her knees gave out and she fell to them.

“… it was a good shot Sammi…” Clare said “Burst Stream of Destruction!” Sammi closed her eyes as he dragon was blasted to oblivion “… do you want to stop here?” Clare asked gently “I wouldn’t blame you if you did… you managed to destroy some of my strongest monsters and I’m proud of you for that.” Sammi sat there for a moment before furiously shaking her and getting back up, making Clare smile more “Okay then. Show me what you’ve got left. I end my turn!”

Sammi LP: 1400 Clare LP: 5800

Sammi pulled her card in silence and set it just the same as a facedown monster appeared. “My go I take it?” Clare asked, waiting for Sammi to nod before she drew. “I set one card… and attack!” her blue eyes vaporized the face down card revealing a slate grey jar with something dark with one big eye and a toothy grin inside it before it shattered (700/600) “That was the Morphing Jar Jane gave me, we now discard our hands and draw five cards… I don’t have any to discard though so I’ll just draw!” Sammi called as she pulled her cards while Clare discarded and drew.

“Very well then Sammi… I play Refusion! By paying 800 lifepoints I can special summon a fusion monster in my grave and equip it with this!” her ultimate dragon can back with a roar “Then I’ll set one more card face down and end my turn!” she said and shouted to Sammi “Show me what you’ve got left dearest!” The dratini nodded and drew her card “I summon… Red Eyes Black Wyvern!” a much smaller, simpler, and armless version of the Red Eyes black Dragon appeared (1800/1600) “Then… I’ll banish him to special summon my second strongest monster! Red Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon!”

The Wyvern vanished as another version of Red Eyes too its place… it was large with more angular and sharper armor and had a distinctive machine look to it… as well as being coated completely in gleaming grey metal (2800/2400) “And his power lets me special summon a dragon from my hand or graveyard once per turn… so come on back Red Eyes Black Dragon!” the metal dragon glowed for a moment and the original black scared dragon appeared next to it “Then… I’m gonna tribute my red eyes to special summon my strongest monster!”

Red Eyes shuddered for a moment and then shattered as a sleeker, more machine looking version of him appeared with black, streamlined armor with orange gems decorating it (2400/2000) in fact it looked like a dead ringer for the metal dragon without the shiny metal “Meet Red Eyes Darkness Dragon! And he gains 300 attack for every dragon in my graveyard! With the one I discarded for Rainbow Life that’s seven!” The Darkness Dragon roared as its attack shot up (4500/2000)

“Impressive sweetie… but it’s not strong enough unless you’re planning on suiciding one of your dragons.”

“Well Mom my really long move isn’t done yet so keep watching!” Sammi called, getting her second wind now “I’m playing MY Future Fusion! I send a copy of my Red Eyes Black Dragon and Meteor Dragon to the graveyard and in two turns I’ll get Meteor B. Dragon!” she called as she sent the two cards to the graveyard and Darkness Dragon’s attack went up again (5100/2000) “Red Eyes Darkness Dragon! Attack Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon with Inferno Darkness Fire Blast!!” she shouted as the metallic looking dragon unleashed a rain of balls of pitch black flames at the three headed dragon. The Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon roared and tried to resist even as the dark fireballs hailed down on it before finally shattering, leaving a still smiling Clare and the regular Blue Eyes behind. Sammi nodded to signal the end of her turn.

Sammi LP: 1400 Clare LP: 4400

“I draw!” she said cheerfully as she pulled the card off her deck “And summon my own Decoy Dragon!” a baby dragon matching the one Sammi played earlier appeared and squeaked “Then I’ll play Cards of Consonance! This lets me discard one dragon type tuner with under 1000 attack points, like The White Stone of Legend, to draw two cards!” she did so bringing her hand size up to four “Then I activate Dragon’s rebirth!” her trap card lifted a Decoy Dragon vanished with a final squeak “It lets me remove from play one dragon type on my field to special summon one in my hand or graveyard… so come on back Ultimate Dragon!”

With a roar the three headed dragon returned as Clare played another card “I activate Advanced Draw, by tributing a level eight or higher monster I can draw two cards.” She said as Blue Eyes White Dragon vanished and she drew. Suddenly a lightbulb went off in Sammi’s head “You’re searching for something!!!” she shouted as Clare laughed “Yep! And I have ONE more chance to find it… I only have one since it’s hard to summon. I play Card Destruction!” she discarded four cards from her hand as Sammi discarded one as they both drew the same amount they’d discarded.

“There we go!” Clare smiled broadly “After all… you showed me your strongest monster. It’s only fair I return the favor! So please don’t take this next move personally my wittle dwagon… but I’m going to win this.” Sammi suddenly felt that terrifying pressure in the air again as Clare took a card from her hand “By tributing a Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon I can summon THIS from my hand!” There was a sudden explosion of light that made Sammi scream and fall back on her bottom as a darkened outline appeared through the brightness. As her vision cleared she could see it was a mechanical version of the Blue Eyes White Dragon, covered in smooth, streamline armor that shined bright and pulsed with energy as it roared (3000/2500)

“Meet my Blue Eyes Shining Dragon!” Clare called “It has the same attack boosting power as your dragon, 300 for every dragon in my graveyard, and it can negate the effect of any card that targets it!” she said as her dragon pulled power from the dragons in her graveyard and roared (5700/2500) “And before you ask all those discards placed two more dragons in my grave.” She added as Sammi looked on in slack jawed terror.

“Now then.. Blue Eyes Shining Dragon! Attack with Shining Burst Stream of Destruction!” Clare called as it reared back and attacked… or at least Sammi thought it did. The pure blinding flash of light kept her from being able to see till her vision cleared and all that was left of Red Eyes Darkness Dragon was a burn mark on the ground as she fell to her knees. “And that’s all for my turn my wittle dwagon… do you think you’re up to continuing?” she asked gently, giving Sammi a concerned look. The dratini was trembling after seeing her best monster destroyed like that but after a moment she got back to her feet “Y-yeah…”

Sammi LP: 600 Clare LP: 4400

“I draw!” she called, trying to sound confident as her mind raced to how to overpower her Mom’s monster. If she could hold on till she drew another Darkness Dragon she might have a chance… she’d just have to hold on till then. “I set one monster and use Darkness Metal Dragon’s power to bring back my normal Red Eye in defense mode!” a set monster appeared followed by her Red Eyes Black Dragon as it crossed it’s arms and wings in front of itself protectively “Then… huh… forgot about this card… I play Inferno Fire Blast!” she slapped the magic card down “In exchange for his attack this round my Red Eyes deals you damage equal to his base attack!” The dragon spat a fireball out at Clare who just smiled.

Sammi LP: 600 Clare LP: 2000

“I end my turn…” Sammi said as Clare wordlessly drew her card and looked over her four card hand “Sammi? How many of those Fire Blast Cards do you have in your deck?” she asked as she sorted through her cards. Sammi scratched her head and thought for a moment “I think I only use one… effect damage isn’t my style.” She said as Clare sighed softly “Oh… I was afraid of that… Sammi? I would like to show you something.” she said as she turned three of her four cards around, one of which Sammi recognized “This is Dark Factory of Mass Production. It’d let me add two normal monsters in my graveyard to my hand. Like my Blue Eyes.”

“This card here is called Ancient Rules. It lets me special summon a level five or higher normal monster. Again like one of my Blue Eyes.” She continued before pointing to the last one “And do you remember what this card does?” she asked gently, making Sammi flash back to when her mom use to take her around on her patrol and explain how things worked in the natural world around the village. The little dratini’s ear fins drooped as she sunk to her knees “Burst Stream of Destruction… your Blue Eyes loses its attack but destroys every monster on my side of the field…”

“Do you know what this means?”

“… I lost…” Sammi said weakly, sniffling “… and this was some big lesson disguised as you trying to test my strength.” She added accusingly as she glared at her mom as Clare chuckled and rubbed the back of her head “Well yes actually… there is more to a fight then all out offense.” She said bluntly giving her daughter a proud smile… and getting a blank look in return “… maybe I should explain more?”

“Yes!”

“Well Sammi, your first response against everything I threw at you was to try and overpower it.” Clare said, in a tone that made Sammi blush and feel like a five year old again “But that doesn’t work all the time. If you’d stopped and gone for more defensive play you could have forced me to over spend myself and run out of cards in my hand or even cards in my deck with how much I drew… like what kept happening to you.” She added as Sammi remember how she kept emptying her hand as quickly as she got the cards.

“And you could have probably won if you’d had one or two more Inferno Fire Blasts in your deck.” She added as she walked over to Sammi “Math isn’t my strong suit but it looks like you’ve got less than half your deck left… if you’d had more and drawn one you could have probably won two turns ago. So you see using tactic that AREN’T pure brute force to overpower something can be the best way to deal with it… particularly when facing something far stronger then you are.” She said giving Sammi’s head an affectionate rub. As the dratini thought on this for a moment.

“But Mom… you’re stronger then pretty much EVERYTHING…”

“So? Doesn’t mean I can’t have a plan in case I ever meet a stronger dragon.”

“… okay…”

“There’s another lesson in this too.”

“… there is?”

“You mentioned your friends gave you a few cards… did they also give you Rainbow Life and Justi-Break?”

“… yeah… how did you know?”

“Dearest, I’m your mother. It’s my job to know these things… that and they weren’t your style. And you saw how effective those cards were despite you not wanting to use them?”

“… your point is?”

She giggled and scooped Sammi up, cuddling her lovingly “You always try to do everything on your own no matter what it is or force people to help you… letting your friends help you willingly isn’t a sign of weakness dearest. It’s a sign that they care about you… as much as you don’t want to admit that.” She added tapping Sammi’s nose and making her blush “Now I don’t expect you to take this to heart right away… but do try and remember, okay?”

“… okay Mom. I promise I will.”

“That’s my wittle dwagon!”
