Waterloo Adventure Games was the first real gaming store I ever knew, and to this day it remains the standard by which all other shops are rated.

Boxes and boxes of old Space Opera and Car Wars modules stacked in odd corners; back issues of Dragon and Dungeon stretching back to the dawn of time; a bare concrete floor that hadn't been cleaned since Ford was in the White House, and always, always two or three middle aged men sitting around a table, playing 15mm Napoleonics, and chain smoking.

All gone now of course, I think it's a travel agency now.
