i looked up at the night sky..... it was beautifull... the wind blew and the trees gently swayed, they looked like hair in the dark and that got me thinking "a picture.... of an angel of darkness looking over us from the night sky, keeping watch" then i thought of luna, the princess of the night and then i remembered derpy and thus i drew derpy.
plus black outlines wouldn't show up very well on the night sky and if i coloured it in then it would be less of a spirit and more of an entity so i decided to draw her outlines in her respective colours.
