Actually, this material is quite light. Not entirely sure what it is, but it's smooth and kind of silky. Much lighter than the calico that makes up my green Victorian dress! Of course, the lightness of the material makes little difference when you account for the chemise, corset, corset cover, bloomers and petticoat. :/

Yes it is, but the undersleeves are attached, anyway. The trick is to put your arm back and down. Getting it buttoned over the corset was the trickier part.
