There was one major worry i'd have if this kind of technology was real.. what happens when one of the portals lost power while your passing though? x.x would you end up sliced in half

Well in game, you're just kinda sucked through the portal you're standing deeper in and not hurt, but yeah, being ripped in two seems more plausible somehow, doesn't it? Haha.
