"Turn back, you’re not allowed to be here." The forest was not happy with him. That Demi could feel thrumming through the air, transmitted across the skyscraper sized trees. He could smell it over the loamy scent of centuries of natural growth. He could feel it in his bones as Pendaren spoke to him. The ancient wood didn’t trust him, not enough to let him into this place.
“Demi may not be allowed here but what’re you silly trees gonna do to stop him?” Demi barked cheerfully as he continued to sprint deeper and deeper into the old growth. He stuck to his third person mode of speaking, it aggravated the prosaic consciousnesses of the forest almost as much as it annoyed his mortal companions.
“You will be stopped.” The forest growled back at him, as ancient as the mountains, as patient as the sea. Demi laughed aloud, the strength of the primal nature of this place making him bold.
“Hah! There’s nothing big enough in this forest to stop Demi!” He barked plunging heedlessly forward. He almost fell on his face as the ground began to shake. A sound thundered through the woods, too shrill to be a roar, too massive to be a howl. It sounded like a cross between a hundred ton locomotive and a humpback whale. The forest didn’t answer; the ancient trees of Pendaren didn’t bother wasting words on dead people. Demi felt his eyes dilating as it came stalking/lumbering through the massive trunks. The gods only knew how many hundred tons of muscle; claws like plowshares; teeth like church steeples.
“A behemoth! You’re sicked a behemoth on Demi!” he exclaimed in astonishment. Apparently the forest did have something big enough to stop him.
