Spottacus Photobombed by Adam Savage (Pic by LeVar Burton)
Levar Burton hugs Spottacus and takes his pic... but Adam Savage photobombs by acting up in the background. Love it! All this at Comic-Con.
This picture set is epic at so many levels.
First, it is two fur-friendly peeps supporting public fursuiting.
Second, LeVar in his post called the pic of him and I "the epitome of ComicCon"... which is a recongition that fursuiting (as opposed to just being furry) is an artistic, entertainment-worthy interest and skill, which says a lot at an entertainment industry driven event.
Third, two public figures are giving the thumbs up to fursuiting, which builds support and acceptance in the general public.
Fourth, there is a celebrity photobomb, which is OH SO COOL!

But I feel it'd be years before AC gets that large.. if it ever comes to that.. I do know Kage has some excellent leadership, can see that.. He quite literally is the masthead of the fandom, even tho he doesnt want to be seen as such. I also am aware that some furs have issue with Kage too, but if we are to be united, we can't just just let small trifles within the fandom erode what good foundations we do have and are building with the general public. No one is perfect, I do realize that. We as furs define the fandom, not Kage. It's what we do in the public eye that gives the image we want the public to perceive us. We can make or break this. If there's something we don't want the public to see, then we shouldn't make them see it and dishonor what good the fandom can bring to them as well.
Oh, don't let the "im just chairman" posture fool you. He does indeed recognize that he is just CEO, and that everyone else does all the "work", but he makes all the hard calls, and basks in the position of the go-to guy for the outside world to see the fandom. He also is a bit ADHD, so delegation is a style employed by many ADHD leaders so that they can reduce the number of things they have to deal with. But make no mistake, he built the empire he sits on and loves the attention. If he could fill a star-filled AC, he would do it in a microsecond.
Way more chance that Adam would drop by FC. He's in SF after all, and more likely to spend a day an hour away to check something out, than to fly 2500 miles to something.
I've run into several of the mythbusters several times over the years. Even been to the same building as one of their studios (they share one space with a print shop). And as we share the same favorite Schwarma place in the Mission, been in line with him waiting for a sandwich on more than one occasion...

(im adding this comment to the pic legend... I think it summarizes what I liek about this pic so well)
