~~ The night fell slowly as he waited uneasily in the forest. He was in trouble, he could feel it. His cells itched to shift into his fox form, but this meeting would require conversation with his adopted brother as well, which meant no shifting for either of them. At least not in front of Jake.
The bushes rustled in front of them, and then she stalked slowly out from the shadows, stopping a few feet in front of them.
She was seething, he could tell just from her posture. She wanted to rip his throat out, and given her tendency to give in to her temper, his death was a completely valid option to her. And to his dismay, she was already partly shifted, even standing in front of a human. Her ears and tail had made their appearance, and that was scarier than any show of fang or claw because it meant he had really screwed up.
"You IDIOT!" She snarled softly, taking a single half step closer and balling her hands into fists at her side. "You SHOWED someone!? An idiot girl, no less? Do you have a death wish, Sid? Honestly now? What the HELL possessed you to shift in front of her!? The idiot went around to half the town screaming about demons being among us because of you! Asil is practically rabid he's so furious!"
"H-hello to you too, Ash...." Stammered Sid uneasily, shrinking back involuntarily.
Ash closed her eyes and looked away, stilling her trembling limbs. With a sigh, she ran forward and wrapped him in a right hug.
"You damn fool!" She whispered, burying her face in his shoulder.
Jake stared at them. "Well that's something I never expected to see."
Sid just stared at where Ashlynn had been standing before, too shocked to reply.
After a moment, he finally managed to find his voice again though. "Wh-....? Why are you hugging me? I thought you hated me." He stammered, frowning in confusion.
Ash jerked back and looked up at him, frowning. "What!? Why would I hate you?" she asked.
Sid shrugged, backing up a bit. "Well, for starters when I first got here you told me you did... Plus you always call me an idiot, I'm always messing things up, and I just single-handedly endangered the entire community of Shifters...."
Ash sighed. "Yeah, you make mistakes, but that just proves you're not a cyborg or something. And yes, you aggravate me to no end, but.... You kinda remind me of my little brother. And I loved that kid to death....." She trailed off, stepping away and shaking her head. "Do me a favor and forget all that? Asil wants to see you asap.... And I was exaggerating when I said he was practically rabid... I was more upset than he was. That's why I demanded you meet me out here instead of at Asil's.... Just hurry and go see him. He'll know what to do about all this."
With that, she turned and disappeared into the brush, shifting as she disappeared.
Jake stared after her. "So.... What did you mean by Shifter community? And what the hell was with the wolf tail and ears?" he asked uneasily.
Sid sighed. "Don't worry about it for now, Jake.... For now..... get home, and make sure no one bothers Ma." Then he dove into the brush, shifting into his fox form in midair just past the bushes and trotting off toward Asil's house.~~

8D I HVE PHOTOSHOP AGAIN!!! XDD I'm soooooo happy! I love coloring my art, but whenever I color it by hand it just doesn't look good enough. Photoshop always makes it look better to me. :33 I just don't have the skill to color things by hand at all.... :P
