This... is actually a bit of a personal piece for me. It is a combination of two patterns from the same book my Forest Fox and Fox Kits projects came from, "Artistic Wildlife Projects" by Marilyn Carmin. The left is an adaptation of the Forest Fox pattern and the right is a wolf pattern. This is also an unstained, unfinished piece cut from red oak and in my opinion the picture does not do the piece justice for it's coloring. Which is to say it's too yellow here. I did like how the grains came out though, and I actually cut it from the center of my oak board rather than the end like normal. ^^;
Anyway. This is one piece I've put more of myself into. For a long time I've loved both foxes and wolves. I've had a life experience with a Wolf named Peaches, but I was small and only have my mother's story to go by. v.v I love both these canids very much and I cannot seem to determine which my spirit prefers if either. I've tried to do some meditating but to no avail. In any case this is another one of my works and I hope you enjoy.
