The air was cold enough to freeze flesh in a few minutes, but the dragon stood proud. Over the shriek of wind, he could hear the small crackling cries of dragonettes in hunger. Food, for him and his young, had been scarce... but he couldn't give up. A snort in the distance caught his attention. He cocked his head in renewed hope, his muscles tensing as he prepared to purse the ghosts that could just be a trick of the winds.
