When I was taking a drawing class, I kept having to draw the same still-life set-up over and over and over again. By the end of the semester, I decided to make a character out of the set-up and came up with Madame and Jasper.

Madame may look imposing, but the worst she will ever do is accidentally blow smoke in your face. She's classy and polite, if not adventurous and outspoken. Her pet, Jasper, is her constant "partner in crime," pampered and spoiled within an inch of his life.

I tried to do something lineless, because playing with those blob doodles I've been submitting made me wonder if I could do something more serious. I used a sketchbook doodle as a guide, and kind of went to town. I'm actually pretty proud of it (this is probably my favorite thing I've done in a while), even if I'm not 100% pleased with accuracy here and there.

Oh well, I guess?
