My new grey fox tails. (Yes, they are real.)
They're smaller than I expected, but they still have lovely coloring. The one on the left is going to be my personal tail to wear (once I attach a keychain to it), it looks almost exactly like my fursona's tail would. C: It has a very cool mohawk kind of thing going on with the black and I tried to show it in the photo, though the black stripe isn't visible at the angle the tail rested at. It's small enough to wear out to wherever and not get in the way, which I'm happy about too.
The one on the right's stripe spirals near the tip which looks pretty neat too. I miiight sell this one in the future, I'm not sure yet.
For those who want to accuse me of wearing tails as an "accessory" or "for my vanity", read this article: http://www.witchvox.com/va/dt_va.ht.....s&id=14618
I love and wear tails because I respect the spirit of the animal it once belonged to, and I want to feel close to the fox's spirit. Not so much in a ritualistic sense, but for me it's more like a security blanket. I like to feel like I have an animal close to me at all times, because I get bad anxiety and I don't always have my dog or cat to go to for comfort. So instead, I sometimes wear a tail to places I know I might get anxious in, so that I have that 'spirit' with me to comfort me. I fully respect, and love the animals my tails (and other remains) come from.

I bought them from a guy through Ebay. He has some beautifully colored tails, the only thing is that they aren't very plush/fluffy at all. They're like the tails you might see on desert dwelling greys than the northern greys. Still lovely, just not super cuddly. C:
I do enjoy the coarse tails, since I have my fair few of obnoxiously fluffy tails xD Your taxidermy collection as far as I can tell is pretty awesome. I have a wide range of tails, and only one skull. I've recently got into it since I have my own funding. My mom doesn't like it so much, though, so I secretly sneak things into my room that I buy.
I might go ebay hunting now~

I'm pretty sure it's a bob cat skull, though I could be wrong. My Biology teacher gave 'em to me. He's in pretty good condition, minus a chipped incisor, though it's not that noticeable. He's currently packed up for when I, assuming if I ever do, move. I might dig him out and take some pictures.
I adore skulls and tails, though around here it's easier to get ahold of tails. There's this anime convention I go to every April and they have a mass collection of all kinds of natural tails under the sun. About half my collection is from there and the other half Ebay.
What kind of skulls are you planning on selling? c:

Nice, I love cat skulls. I'm eyeing this one lynx kitten skull on Ebay, really hoping to get it to cross off my wish list. <33
Easier to get skulls here, I scavenge them lol. I bought my first tail from an amazing taxidermist, traded for one, and just got these two haha. There's hardly ever any good conventions in my state. ;n;
I have cows, horses, a coyote, and a couple damaged dog skulls right now from what I've scavenged, and a groundhog that I got from someone in my 'for sale' list right now. It's always growing though with each scavenging adventure. xD

A coyote skull is definitely on my wishlist right now, so I'll snatch it up when I can~
I wish I could scavenge around here, but I live in a densely populated area. I always thought about digging up one of my rats I buried a few years ago but as much as I want a rat skull, they were my pets and I have no idea how to clean a skull xD

Coolies~ It's a pretty small one, with some damage to the back of the skull so it's definitely not in awesome condition. (I found it near an alpaca farm, the farmer had shot it. :c )
That sucksss. I live in a very rural area, and go down dump roads to find most of my canines and goats, and drive through the open desert to find cows and horses.
I dug up my old cat when I moved and cleaned her skull. :x It sounds creepy, but I think of it as being the same thing as keeping your pet's ashes.
Skull cleaning is really easy, I can tell you how if you want. C:

My tail gives me confidence I laugh when I over hear the comments of people and for the negativity I may get I just shrug it off. I guess you can say the tail is apart of me in spirit when I was just a small child I have always wished I could have a tail, now that I finally do I feel very happy and feel so complete x3
I do give my sweet lovely tail all the respect and I would love to have more when I get the money o3o

I have no confidence in public, unless I'm in costume at a convention. That's the only time I'm ever really outgoing to strangers. xD
That's awesome. <3 I don't like when people treat a tail like it's just some pretty toy to use as an accessory, like it's an inanimate object. Those kind of people give all fur/tail-wearers a bad image. :c

Hope you don't mind me cutting in, but I also wear my tails in public! Not all at the same time though heh.
I always find the comments and looks to be a bit funny, I once even got a cop to turn and snicker! XD
I think the most negative comment I had was these teenage girls, they kept asking me if they could tug on it!

Lol the only rude comment I got was from my ex's sister but she was completely full of it. She told me how it was disgusting to own a part of a dead animal (funny thing is she is part native and her mom has a few dream catchers with dead birds and animals on it) and she told me how the animal's spirit will haunt me forever and make me depressed to the point of suicide. :/
I'm sorry to hear that... It's a bit sad :\
The only time I've ever gotten comments like that was on the internet... Luckily I grew up in a place were people had to hunt for the majority of there food, so seeing animal pelts and bones wasn't really all that odd to them, just seeing them used was a bit odd! XD

Yeah I haven't gotten any of that yet online but I did stick up for a few people who do get attacked by the misinform people.
Funny thing is my first animal was a old vintage mink pelt with the funny looking eyes. I remember it having the back feet but wasn't sure if it had the front legs as well. I would take that thing everywhere I go even to school where all the other pre k kinds freaked out. xD All I know is that is what got me into taxidermy I love having to pet a animal so beautiful without getting bitten

They are! You can't really see the nice black stripe the left one has though, it's so bold and goes right down the tail to the tip. <3
Yeah, animal spirits are very comforting. My room is much more cozy and relaxing after I've started displaying my skulls/feathers/tails in it. c:
