lol I do every verse, chorus, break and, well, let's just say every section of the song on a different track. I think it's easier to do it that way because, obviously, the longer you're going on one track, the more liable you are to make mistakes, right? So I do all of my songs in small, bite sized pieces. ;P
The drums and keyboard arrangements are all done before I do the guitars, so of the 279, only 4 were not guitar or bass.

Well in terms of processing a track you can record all on one track in multiple takes, than any processing is done to everything rather than having to bus multiple tracks through another processing/output track. But hey, whatever works for you man, cause it's working out quite well. :3

lol The rhythm guitars were nine hours or recording with very few breaks, the lead guitars and solos were about an hour and a half and the bass was almost two hours. So, pretty quick by usual recording standards. The mix of the song, once I had it all condensed down to 11 tracks, took maybe an hour or so? Maybe a little more?
