:) This is great info. I've always been an admirer of people who take writing commissions simply because I *love* to read people's interpretations of my characters. >w< Hopefully this encourages more people to expand their ideas about commissions. <3

FWIW, I've had a note on my profile for...at least several years now (memory fails) about doing commissions. I don't even ask for actual money, I'm open to barter, swaps, etc. And after all that time, I've got a grand total of ZERO contacts about commissions. Now, part of the problem, I'm sure, is that I take forever to get stuff done. I do NOT produce on a quick turn-around, and I don't post even monthly, so I'm not in anyone's face regularly.

All this is a good indicator that writing for tips/ca$h can be VERY challenging. I'm, if I have to say so myself, pretty good (if terribly slow). I do have a bit of a reputation in certain circles (I'm one of very few UnBirthing specialists). And with all that, I still don't even get nibbles. Now, maybe if I said I do Sonic-Pokemon crossover porn I'd get some serious hits (and no, I don't and probably won't, since I know jack crap about either fandom). It's not easy, but when you DO get a commission, it can be a challenging and refreshing exercise. Don't give up!
