Heraldry is a hobby of mine; it's amazing, it almost has its own language to describe things, and gets very complicated with what images and colours you can and can't use. This is a non-existant coat (or, more correctly, an "achievement") of arms - if I copied a real, existing coat of arms and claimed it as my own, I could be taken to court! Yes, there are LAWS governing the improper use and copying of achievements of arms, you can get into real trouble if you mess around with these things.

So here we have an imaginary one, drawn up using the rules and etiquette of the traditions (although there are probably some flaws still present), rendered in acrylics on canvas board. This was also one of those rare occasions I have ahd to use masking fluid.
