This is Orgyia leucostigma, also known as the White-Marked Tussock Moth.
It's a bright yellow with black and red accents. A pretty eye-catching looking caterpillar. He was very adept at climbing too. My brother insisted he was a gangster. lol. He also did some caterpillar break dancing in which I thought he had impaled himself on the tree but he was just wiggling. It was awesome.
