An original piano piece by yours truly. Supposed to have been recorded on a real steinway grand a few weeks back, but I had to be ill on the day of the recital :-/
In anycase, I finally decided to record on my Yamaha CP33. The samples are from SampleTekk/PMI Old Lady, a beautiful sounding vintage steinway.

Well, I had the opportunity to try some steinway Ds, and sincerely, those are not the best I had the luck to try.
The reason is, they are perfect. Really perfect. And for this reason they lack personnality. This is my taste, many people would say I'm crazy, but I think they lack character, especially in the low notes. What I can't blame though is the tone which is quite regular. But I really prefer upright pianos rather than grand when I have to play. If Steinway is your brand of choice, and no one can turn you away, try the Steinway K upright, which is really great, or a german model, like the Schimmel.
Okay, I'm Schimmel whore, but their pianos really "lives" and they got a soul.
Nice harmonies and melody, by the way. You deserve your place on the spolight

Hi!
Haven't touched a steinway yet, but I think I know what you mean :) London's got street pianos (http://www.streetpianos.com/) all over the place, and recently I played on this really worn out upright - not sure what it is. Man, it has character in loads! Mechanically it was failing but it was very special. I came by another day and it was shifted :-/
Cheers for the compliments!
