AKA: Pokemon fans are crybabies.
So yeah, looking around it seems that people actually MISS Zubat because of this guy. Let's just review:
1st cave it appears in: tiny. Only have to go in there to battle some guys and leave. Chances are you won't even see it unless you go back in.
2nd cave: After obtaining 6 badges when your pokemon is fully evolved, meanwhile this guy stays as is and doesn't appear that much compared to Zubat.
3rd cave: Victory road. Should you be more concerned about the Durants which appear all the time?
Let's also consider that in 5th gen wild Zubat/Golbat don't hold items and learn acrobatics via level up so while your pokemon is attacking themselves in confusion and slowly dying from poison fang, it's whacking you with an attack with 110 power.
Now considering that, is Woobat truly that bad?

On my second playthrough of black, I made it a priority to get one, just to spit in the face of all the woobat haters. Sure, it wasn't that good in battles, but it's an early psychic type. It's nowhere near as bad as everyone says it is. They're just annoyed because it shares a lot of similarities, but since gen 5 is a parallel to gen 1, it's understandable.
Woobat are not the best, but is there such a thing as the best in battling, training or even just playing nowadays?

Considering a metagame heavily focused on speed, a woobat/swoobat can always outclass a zubat/golbat. Not only does it have a type advantage, but it can completely shut down and stall the rival bat from doing what it does best. Only against a crobat, would he actually be outclassed. Otherwise, I actually like the gen5 bat. With that, I end my short rant

At least Zubat can turn into golbat then Crobat which is actually a GOOD pokemon compared to Woobat and its evolution... WHICH IS UGLIER!
Now that I'm ranting... ALOT of the 5th gen pokemon are just dumb... yes there are the good ones like Haxorus and Golurk (just stating some of the non-obivous ones i think) ONE IF A FRIGGEN ICE CREAM CONE AND THE OTHER IS A BAG OF GARBAGE!

If looks were any indicator of how good a pokemon is, Nidoran would have base 170 in every stat. :T And Crobat looks dumb. A major dissapointment for a Golbat evolution that carries nothing that made Zubat and Golbat cool or scary.

They've had literal piles of crap, balls that turn into balls with upside down colouring, magnets, pink blobs, a rock and a racist abomination against that has no place in any works of fiction. Oh, and pokemon that were designed to look like Jewish stereotypes that abduct children.
Then there was gen2... which was mostly just full of pokemon that were completely useless and yet hardly ever appear and gave us baby Pokemon that were mostly just pointless marketing tools...
Just sayin'.

Eh.... I'm not gunna say your wrong but I'm not gunan say you're right either. Yes, every gen has flaws in their pokemon. Yes Crobat was kind of a lame evolution for Zubat/Golbat looks wise.
But it seemed that Gen 5 dropped the ball just a bit.
