Quite the shy little moth, which made it especially difficult to photograph. I missed out on an earlier attempt to take a shot of a pair mating.

Thanks! I have been trying to photograph harder to find species. I just missed a rare dragonfly the other day.

Aaah. I hate when that happens. ><
I try to photograph insects wherever I go.

I think the worst one is when you think you have a good picture then find out that it's blurry.

Yeah, that is a pain, but at least with the digital cameras you have a fairly good idea and there isn't a loss of film.

Squash Borer, Melittia cucurbitae, This is a moth that mimics a wasp. The host plant is any sort of Squash, Mellon, or Cucumber.
