Lol, scenery. Seriously, there's no category "cityscapes"?!
Aaaanyway!
Contrary to the previous picture this one shows the Gremoria in 'medieval' times, when the city center was placed on the mountain.
And this time I made a sketch which I later coloured with aquarel colours, since I wasn't satisfied at all with the looks of the picture.

Hello, my friend. I finally find some time to comment on this piece – and I really wanted to!
Well, then I shall start my usual comment, also known as “short story”! *snickers*
I will work myself through different aspects of the artwork and give comments about it. This time in super-colour, too!
COMPOSITION/COLOUR:
"Aztec" was my first impression, too. But I wasn't right if this would be correct. ^^"
Anyway, the artwork’s composition is somehow familiar and yet sooo unique!! Fantastic. This whole concept… the main building on top of the rock and all the other buildings in a radial matter all around it… it just looks pretty fantastic.
Also, it looks very intimidating to any sort of enemy, hehehe.
You’ve taken care for each and every little house… and worked it all out with even more care and skill.
You have proven to be a specialist when it comes to the "warm-cold-contrast" and you're using yellow-ish colours and grey/blue-ish colours very masterful! The contrast shown here gives us a very warm feeling… like a sunset (I think it’s a sunset), which puts the whole city under a very warm, comfortable cloak.
What did I once called you?
”Master of light and shadow”… yes?? ^__^ THAT is still true!
DETAILS:
So many houses… all these blocks and buildings require a huge amount of time, supervision and skill from your part. I can only admire this and I really do!! ^^”
It’s breathtaking how the buildings are composed and how the city grows with each new building. I could get lost in there… my eyes are wandering through the streets and corridors and I can see something new every time I watch it. Superb!
ADVISE/FLAWS / ERRORS:
Can’t mention real flaws here… just something obvious:
We can’t see the windows of the small houses, which gives us the expression of “small blocks of wood being piled up in a radial matter somehwere”. In fact, that is not a flaw… but I wanted to mention it here. But before you answer: yes, I am sure you did that on purpose. After all, this artwork is about the composition and position of the houses… a feeling of how the buldings are set and composed. You didn’t care for the details such as doors, windows or people, ‘cause this was simply a “compositional” or “conceptual work”. At least that’s my impression of this. ^^
But I wanted to clearify this thing about the windows, before some other guy points it out the wrong way!
So then… this is it! Another large comment for a masterpiece like that.
Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!

Aye! I always enjoy short stories rather than shouts ;D
I'm still rather undecided whether I find that main building on the top good or not It reminds too much of aztecs what was not the purpose. One could argue it's a ziggurat of sorts, but I didn't want to aim to Mesopotamia either
Also, I caught myself there with the sunset - orinigally it was supposed to be behind the main building, but that would put the entire city to a dark shadow of the ambient lighting what would end up rather unspectacular x)
I tried to paint a believable cityscape as fast as possible, to be honest - if I have to cope with cities like contemporary Halmss, the ability to render vast amounts of building in earthly time might get handy!
You're absolutely correct there - after all in this stage more or less everything in the city is "movable" so things like doors windows and people are just unnecessary clutter, although, in a completely finished artwork I'd have to add them in
Thank you for the large and thorough critique! I really enjoyed reading it!
Repost from DA so people can read it here too ;D
