Car Ride

A slight breeze flowed through the tree lined street, bringing a moment’s cool relief to the summer’s unforgiving heat. The sound of the jeep engine could clearly be heard down the quiet neighborhood street. Ryu walked through her house, grabbing a few things and putting them into a bag. She was wearing a green tank top and jean shorts. The Cheebit looked up from her bag, the piece of dry toast she was eating still dangling from her teeth as the familiar sound of the approaching jeep caught her attention. She smiled happily as she looked out the window and confirmed who had arrived. Sitting in the driver’s seat of the jeep was a good friend of hers. The male white tiger wearing only black swim trunks with red trim put the jeep in park and honked the horn lightly. She smirked to herself as she took one last look in the mirror, and thought about the plans for today before turning to grab the bag.

Stepping out of her house she quickly walked up to the jeep to greet the male. “Good morning Aitora. Glad to see my jeep is still in one piece.” she said as she placed her bag on the seat. “Very funny. Morning Ryu. Thanks again for letting me borrow it.” he replied before a white furred figure from the covered backseat wrapped its arms around his neck from behind. “Morning Ryu!” said the female figure excitedly. “Hey Misty.” said Ryu seeing the white rabbit girl in the back seat. She was wearing an off black t-shirt and jean short shorts. “If you don’t mind Aitora I’m going to sit back there with her.” said Ryu placing her bag in the passengers seat. “Be my guest. Oh could you girls let the cover down? It’s getting pretty hot.” said Aitora as Ryu got into the backseat. “It sure is.” purred Ryu as she and Misty exchanged knowing glances. Aitora’s ear twitched at the tone the Cheebit had used before Misty exclaimed “That’s why we’re going to the beach!” Aitora shrugged off her excitement and put the jeep in drive. “Hang on girls.” he said as the jeep pulled away from the curb. “Whoo!” “Alright lets go!” shouted the girls as they stood up in the backseat. Fully ready to have a lot of fun today.
