So here are the prelimn inks. I'm a little irritated with the muzzle on the dog in front, I squared it off a bit too much when I went in and inked, it's not too annoying though. Otherwise the dog in front is definitely my favorite, I just, really like the hunched up pose.
I haven't decided how I'm finishing this... The dog in front is our boy dog, and he's mostly all black. The one is back is the girl, and... That's what she looks like, white with a black patch...
We'll see, we'll see.

Well. I pretty much ALWAYS have a sketch in pencil I do before hand, to make sure the lines are right.
Though I have been practicing with not erasing.
This drawing in perituclar ended up using three sketches because I'm terrible at putting multiple creatures close together, so I drew the foreground pup on a sheet, the background pup on another, then light boxed the two onto another sheet and did the hardlines in pencil, before ink got anywhere near it. And then a fourth paper was used with lightboxing to get the final product. Mostly because ink over pencil looks cruddy and doesn't clean up all that well.
Lol, uh, point being, working with ink isn't too scary if ya have the sketch to work with.
