Back cover of my sketchbook, done very quickly with markers because I noticed that the back cover was picking up dirt at an alarming rate and would be looking gross quite soon if I didn't busy up the look of it. So I picked a dark-colored character [Magpie, in this case] and set to work.

Jeez, the marker work looks a hundred times better in person... I have a real issue with the timing in my coloring with markers. Seems like I can't get it all to look like one field of color. Is problem. [And of course there's always the fact that I can't shade to save my life....]

edit: LOL just noticed this is the second time I have jokingly used "mars" to refer to the red circles/halos I like to draw behind characters' heads. Well shit.
