Rays are the aquasapian rulers of the sea, given the control over magic that they have, They are near extinct now due to a sabotage on their main kingdom via the sharks. There weren’t many of them to begin with, only about a hundred. They were born with the gift to keep the seas calm and the ocean healthy, though their magic Is referred too as Dark, due too the sheer power of it.

They are a resilient species, built for survival. They heal quickly from injury and disease, it’s hard to find a weakened ray, but enemies will usually dispatch one immediately knowing the opportunity would never come again.

And that was how the sharks did it with a freak oil spill that polluted the waters deep in making them all very sick to they didn’t have the strength to clear it, the sharks attacked and destroyed the entire kingdom slaughtering them all.

Shaller was born in the pacific ocean in the ray Kingdom and grew up as a Prince and the General of the Ray army. He’s a natural born leader and very skilled and agile despite his size. The elders told a prophecy about him may years ago he would bring a change to the oceans that had never before been seen. He was blessed with the ancient power over ice, a very rare gift only one ray having it before and he’s said to be a Ray Deity. Many of the religious rays thought the Prince a reincarnate of the god that once swam with them.

Shaller never felt as if he had the power of abilities of a god so never truly took it to heart, especially since the massacre. He met his wife when he was younger born to a family that typically served the royals, they were best friends growing up and when it came time for him to select his mate, he choose her, despite the Mer king desperately trying to merge their species wanting to arrange a marriage to his youngest daughters. But Royal Rays were not allowed to mate outside of the species to keep their blood pure.

They had his son Shara not long after, and Shaller loved them both very much. He felt his life perfect for a long time. Then disaster stuck when they all fell so ill and the sharks sent wave after wave into the unprepared city. Shaller had been gravely wounded and thought to be dead so the sharks piled him in with the rest of the community in the grand arena of the Ray demon kingdom. He awoke amongst the mutilated and dead bodies of his people his family and friends, locating his wife and son not long after finding them both brutally maimed and dismembered. He took the time to take each body to the trench graveyard they had and store them in the rocks before he left the kingdom unsure what to do with himself hiding himself up in the artic ocean taking time to think.

Shaller suffers from severe post traumatic stress, recalling the events so often to the point he’s fallen into a deep deep depression. Being the last of his species and having lost everyone he doesn’t want to live anymore, but he wasn’t ready to die either. He planned revenge on the Sharks… their kingdom. Reserving his strength and meditating, dwelling on all that happened… He was going to destroy them all… the entire kingdom, he had the power to do it too.

On his way to the kingdom he ended up getting ambushed with a surprise attack of Shark scouts. He killed them but one managed to get him with a poison barbed spear. When he came around he’d washed up on the beach in England and been found by a young woman Mo and her son, Bonbon, who’d called her father a marine biologist to come help.

Shaller had never met or encountered humans before. So it was startling and scary experience, but over time he came to like them in the two weeks of recovery he didn’t feel so alone anymore, as the humans promised, and kept the promise to keep him secret when they could have turned him in. But the closer he got the more weary he became fearing for their safety, and soon the time came and passed and word got back to the sharks one ray- The Prince- now rightful king, survived. The Shark Kind, Arwen sent sharks up on land to dispatch the King putting the family in serious danger and even getting Bonbon kidnapped.

Shaller and Mo are off to the ocean to get him back, shaller plans to trade himself for the boy.
