MS Paint actually isn't necessarily a crappy program... I've seen people produce gorgeous art with it. You just have to know how to use it a certain way to get good effects.

And uh, I don't think it's such a good idea to be recommending that someone get Photoshop illegally O_o Tpir, if you happen to want a new art program and you don't want to pay for it, get a free one like GIMP.
