I actually did this as a sort of commission deal for my friend PapillonReel. I haven't made up my mind or not if I'll sell these at cons or not (Pappy said it was OK), but... I guess we'll see!

I actually prefer the first game over the other two, because it actually had a little thing called BALANCE. No tiers, no Sonic, no nerfing, no Sonic, no convoluted pantomime story, no Sonic, no tournaments, no Sonic, and NO SONIC! Love your games Sonic, but stay away from my Smash Bros!
Well, at least someone likes me dumb jokes. =p
Bu yeah, I agree. A fighting game really needs balance or some semblance to it. I think it was clear in Brawl Sonic was added way too late in the dev cycle to be properly tested and balanced. Meta Knight was worse though, in everyway way save his Final Smash. Sonic final Smash was pure cheese though.

What's worse, Sonic is in two other fighting games, both quite fun, and he was an okay character in both. I'm talking about Sonic the Fighters (actually a fun game), and Sonic Battle (also fun despite the slow beginning).
Personally I'd cut the cast number in half and replace a lot of whoever is left. Ness and Lucas = Kumatora. It makes sense, neither Ness nor Lucas have the moves they use in SSB in their respective games, Kumatora does. That, and she's 99x cooler than both.
Snake is fun, I'd keep him. Final Smashes would need to be handled differently, or not at all.
Replace Fox with Epsilon Eagle from Alien Soldier. While I imagine the licensing hoops Nintendo would have to jump through just to get an obscure character like him makes his appearance unlikely, if you've played his game, you can see why I think he could work. Plus, Fox just isn't all that fun anymore. Pikachu can stay, unaltered, but DK should be replaced with Blastoise.
Tell me what you think.

Haven't play much of ethir. I admit, I dabbled in Fighters, , but Battle eluded me.
Dunno if I'd cut the cast by that margin, but I'd certainly replace a lot of characters. Or tweak them so they didn't feel like clones. Final Samshes would need to be retooled, though given how many of them factor into balance, not sure if removing them without overhaulinga large chunk of the cast would be wise.
Haven't play that one, but I may need to now. You certainly know your obscure Genesis games, don'tcha?
Anyways, I do feel bad cluttering up the comments section. got MSN or Skype?
