A good friend and pirate comrade of mine, 
coyotero celebrates today his birthday.
Together, Charha and I made this little birthday gift for him.

Redburn Rodgers is one of hsi literal villains (damn you if you do not read it!!), and is dressed like I think pirates should be. He once killed his wife and child and keeps the skulls....
Perhaps I really should draw such outfits more often^^

First of all thank you very very much, LeChevalier and Charha for such a wonderful combined work. I am honoured and flattered by those skills you two have shown here. I am so happy I can't describe it with emoticons alone :)
That's the way I wanted to see one of the greatest villains in my story.
While most other characters have a more martial look, arrogant and snobbish James Edgar "Redburn" Rogers prefers the pompous style. While definetly insane he's a deadly sword fighter, using two identical blades in combat to kill his enemies. The scene shows him saying "don't look at me that way again!" when he turns away ashamed from the skull.
The skull which his claw carvings is the only remain of his former love Elaine. He loved her like crazy but turned mad when she didn't reply to his love but fell in love with Logan Silver and got pregnant by him. Redburn killed Elaine in front of Silver (on his ship when Silver has been on the Stormborn) by cutting a hole into her belly and choking her with the umbilical cord. He also killed her unborn child. Since then, he and Silver are rivals to death - Redburn still feels dishonoured and embarassed by Silver whom he thinks of as a scoundrel and crippled wolf not worthy to lead a ship. However, since that day he suffers from nightmares and listens to imaginary voices. Redburn kept Elaine's skull as a trophy, talking to her when he feels lonely, and excuses for his murder. He also worked the skull of the unborn cub into a silver goblet.
As you see, this red-obsessed setter (from lesser noble stock) is a total nut. He keeps in charge on his ship by raw violence and pure slaughter. His ship is the Predator King which carries fifty cannons and is easily to be spotted thanks to red sails. His flag are three red crowns on black, and no quarter has ever been given.
