The embattled mind searches for solutions,
Yet becomes entombed in their own delusions,
As their frantic search finds only ashensand,
Of what used to be nightmares now in their hand,
Scarred by broken promises made by the charmed,
While they remain to say do not be alarmed,
And that poor broken soldier searches for light,
Finding “Everything will be okay tonight”,
Only a scoff emerges from their marred lips,
That empty can has rattled beyond kind tips,
As these jaded ears are paralyzed to words,
Of which no meaning is held; but fly like birds,
Wallowing in their failure to fly afar,
The horizon promises a higher par,
To unearth how to repair a blackened heart,
Diseased by assurances bled dry in part,
This misery has only themselves to blame,
As the world turns without those hiding in shame,
Unable to conquer this woe now clearer,
The beast that stares into his own troubled mirror…
