She claims the damage was done during shipping.
It was in a box by itself, no holes in it, and the customs form states that the box was never opened.

Did the box have any structural damage? Mine was shipped from Denmark to the US, and the box was MANGLED. I'm just curious - if you can get a picture of the box being even mostly sound, since there wasn't any packaging, it'll help prove your point.
I'm so sorry you got subpar work, it's terrible hearing so many folks horror stories from her :<

This I could see in shipping because it looks like it was crushes or squashed a bit, like you said the jaw got crooked as well right? Maybe something heavy was put ontop of its package. Mine looked very wrinkled like it had been squashed, and stretched, and abused in shipping(the box that is, the suit was pretty alright)
Oh wow, I didn't even notice that. The ripping could just be poor construction (no exacto knife to clean cut it), but the colouring coming off the mesh on the eyes... Something must have been rubbing or grinding over the eye (or it just wasn't done very well to begin with). Or is that like a white paint overtop of the actual colour?
Wow :/ this was DEFINITELY not like this when I sent it. I give suits a VERY good looking over before sending to make sure there aren't any little things that need a last minute stick down or correction. I'm so sorry this has happened to you :/. I know you mentioned you were worried that my dog or something may have gotten to it but there's no chance of that either. He's never been in my workshop as I hate the idea of pets and work mixing and is penned up in his crate and run from when I start work to the end of the day apart from lunch where I take him out. I can definitely say it was not like this at all when I sent it out though, I'd never do that to anyone x_x. I really do recommend contacting the postal service to get compensation :(
This really stinks :/ Sorry to see this.. D: I really loved how this head came out too. I'm not sure what really happened and don't want my two sense to make anything worse but I know I've packed heads carefullyand just from shipping, which even in the US I've had LOTS of issues with fragile things, anything rubbing the buckram could make it start to rub off, and the eye like someone else said seems like it's had something heavy put on it. I know from personal experience I've got stuff from overseas and the box, even with saying fragile, was crushed completely on one side.. not that they even cared when I said something. X.x' Again.. it really is sad to see this happen to the head D:
This is really odd. I can't seem to figure out how this would have happened... like.. how...no idea. It looks like a rock hit the eye, or a small animal chewed the edge, but that doesn't explain the color rubbing off. Im so confused! As for the nose, it looks like there was something in the box with it that maybe kept bumping into it..but it must have been hitting pretty hard to cause that sort of damage :/
They are not chew marks on the eye, something was rubbed against it with enough pressure to start peeling the cardstock away from the buckram. And yeah, to cause this damage something sharp would have actually had to penetrate the box and hit the nose repeatedly... Nothing else was actually inside the box.
That is so odd :/ I don't see why they would purposely damage something they spent time on especially after having it returned for repairs. Your best bet (though Im sure you are sick of doing this) is to send it back again to get the eye and nose fixed and have it packaged properly when they send it back.
I'm... not sending it back. I would rather have someone local fix it. As it stands at the moment she is not reimbursing me for the very large customs amount saying customs are "not to do with shipping costs". :/ Waiting on a reply from her now, arguing that statement.... She says I would have to pay for both shipping and the repairs if I wanted to go that route.
oh I see, like peeled it back and frayed the paper? I said teeth marks because I keep a lot of small animals and in your photo it looks -exactly- like something a rodent would make! But, without being able to see it myself in person that is the best I can offer up. I hope you do get this resolved. This whole thing is such a shame.
I heard some people saying distance, and shipping could be to blame. I get packages from Japan regularly, and I live in the US. I have never had anything come to me mangled or torn up like this. Even if the box has a couple dents, the items inside have always been fine :/
I am sorry this has happened to you. I wonder how she does her eyes, and if heat may be to blame for the discoloration. As for the actual whites...no clue. Like everyone else, it seems to be some kind of animal bites...

I think what stood out most to me was that there is no symmetry to the circle cut out around the eye. It looks like someone tried to freehand it and goofed up on the left side and went "meh, screw it, they won't notice". Having just recieved my suit, I can say that proper tools were clearly used to make a proper circle, not a freehand razor blade hack-job. I would really hope that you get at least a large portion of what you paid back. I know how long you waited for this, I'm so sorry
Please update when you receive an answer from the maker so everyone knows if this person has professional standards that they follow to compensate you accordingly. All of the damage aside, the sheer length of time alone constitutes a major failing on their part.
I've personally done business with companies who've rectified very serious problems to my satisfaction, and I've gone ahead and recommended them to many people because of their willingness to correct a bad situation. It leaves me feeling really good about a company if they're willing to do that. Not everything goes perfect every time, but to every problem there is a solution. Here's hoping that you're dealing with people who back up their product and work with you.
